You have to squint to see his vulnerability, don't you? But yes, the fact that he denies feeling emotion after showing emotional reactions (prime example being after the old lady was blown up) shows he has them, he's aware of them, and he's unsettle to the point of denial. So, quite plausible!
I'm extrapolating how he's going to be post Reichenbach, after he's gone through a time when he's not in a 'safe' environment and will have to conceal any outbursts of emotion, so God help me. :)
