Weekend update

Had slashers over on Saturday ([livejournal.com profile] indybrat, [livejournal.com profile] charliequinn, Mirna, Genie and Cherry) and had a lot of fun. Then, as people lent me videos, I spent Sunday in bed watching stuff, and woke up feeling a bit off (not dying, just tired) and took today off sick.

Random thoughts:

- Finally saw some S3 DS. Ray K? He's cute in that Oz (Seth Green) way, but his accent's annoying. For my money, I'll stick to Ray V.

- Inspector Rex? Highly slashy and adorable show.

- Watched WW (ITSOTG) and was highly amused by [livejournal.com profile] charliequinn's comments on the first Sam/Josh flashback. She laughed over Sam's first comment ("You look fit") because, as she said, "people say that to each other all the time". *g* Although, I was more amused by her surprise when the next scene showed them eating hotdogs (she thought it was an euphemism. *g*).

- Between six of us, we ordered three family sized pizzas. Between the three pizzas, I was left with almost an entire pizza as left-overs. Guess what I've been eating for the last two days?

- Velvet Goldmine has very pretty boys (even if I can't help thinking of Brian Slade as Steerpike in another life) but a kinda depressing ending. Not so fun.

- Methos is snarky and highly amusing. Was that character even in the films? I'm curious.

- Hey, [livejournal.com profile] jmtorres, you're a MX fan. Do you know where the episode "Ex Marks the Spot" fits in (it's the one with Keith Cullum... I have no idea of hi s name, he's Ray K). I'm curious because I just saw it. As much as I love this dodgy series (and keep waiting for the two girls to just kiss already), it's logic is mightily flawed. If Jesse can phase through walls wearing clothing, obviously he has the ability to make inanimate objects (fabric, boots, or say, a faberge egg) phase through as well. Oh well, I never watched it for the plot...

- I must have watched about four hours of SN yesterday. I'm now watching it as a Dan/Casey meal, with a side order of Natalie/Dana. I think it's something about Sorkin's writing. I find his same-sex friendships far more believable, endearing, complex and committed than his actual relationships.

Hmmm... I'm off to find Velvet Goldmine slash... and probably re-read Lanning's SN fic. *g*

Methos was in Endgame but none of the others. And, yes, Peter Wingfield is a Good Thing.

I would totally agree; I've been watching a lot of Sports Night this weekend as well, and a lot of the Dana/Casey stuff is driving me crazy. Dan/Casey, however, continues to please. :)

I would make an exception in two areas, though: when Casey and Dana are interacting as old friends rather than potential lovers, I love the way you can see the years of caring and the level of comfort they have with each other. I think it's a bit like the CJ/Toby relationship that way, although I'm pretty sure Sorking never intended to write CJ and Toby that way. Maybe it's just that he's really good at writing characters who have long histories and accept each other for what they are. However, most of the time with Dana and Casey he writes all sorts of crazy emotional roller-coaster stuff that drives me nuts, especially in the second season.

Also, though, I love Dan when he's interacting with Rebecca. Maybe it's just because I love Dan, but when he's being sweet to her and courting her I just die. OK, that's pretty much because I love Dan in all instances, I suppose.

It's Callum Keith Rennie :) Which eps of S3 DS did you see? While I think the show was better in the early seasons, RayK is my Ray of choice for slashiness *g*. As for the final episode...*swoons happily*...

The energy vampire one? Er, late season 1 I think.

Not like there's any real reason to watch anything but the Ashlocke episodes in order, and who wants to watch the Ashlocke episodes anyway?
