Everyone has guilty pleasures. You know, those fic themes that... just appeal to you. They don't have to particularly suit the fandom, but you'll read them anyway. One of mine is probably sex slave stories. Blame it on the fact that the first piece of pure erotica was Anne Rice's Beauty Series (at the ripe old age of 12), but it just... kinda appeals.

Doesn't suit every mood, but sometimes, you just want to sit back and wallow in it. That's what I've been doing today. I've been reading The Hart and the Lion, an incredibly AU SN fic. Well, not so much an SN fic, as a fic with characters from SN, but vastly different setting.

The really amusing thing? I'm only halfway through and I'm really enjoying it. Took a while to get into it, to suspend the disbelief, but now I'm a happy little fangirl, settling in for the rest of the plot to happen. (Wars between nations, intrigue within the House of el-Rydell, *lots* of sex scenes... *g*)

Oh, I read that, more or less in one sitting. Talk about guilty pleasures, I was too embarrassed to tell anyone about it. Apart from wondering (briefly) how happy Josh Charles would be to be playing an Arab, and skipping over the colonic irrigation, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. And had to stop my brain from going off and writing a sequel.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this!
