Desktop meme
Well, I almost started the day efficiently... *shrugs* Desktop meme, gakked from
sinbrat:

( 1 ) Why you chose the background color/image you did:
A couple of reasons. First of all, it's Dan/Casey, but subtle enough that I don't have to explain anything to any passing workmates. Next, it's light and not too distracting. It makes it easy to see and read the icons, again without drawing other people's attention.
Thirdly, my monitor... is not great with images. Anything too smooth, looks all grainy on my screen. Because of the texture effects of this wallpaper, you don't actually notice it. (And, how dodgy is it that I snuck onto the boss's computer to save this as jpeg file. My computer has Paint that will only save bmps, and a fax viewer that saves bmps and tifs.)
( 2 ) Why your toolbar is where it is:
Down the bottom because it's practical. I never remember to look at the side for them, so that's useless.
( 3 ) Why the choices on your toolbar are present:
Four things I use the most. Desktop (because there's several programs on the desktop), Outlook (which is always open), IE (which I use frequently for work, and frequently for procrastination) and Word (ditto).
( 4 ) What the desktop icons are:
Ah. Okay, in the top right hand corner is links to all the old programs on this computer, left by the last user. I don't use them, but I'm not sure they won't need to be used sometime, so they get hidden in there.
On the left are files and programs I use. MYOB for checking client details (no actual accounting work done by me *g*), CAFE and ING for insurance quotes, Easy Brokerage for keeping an eye on commissions and printing out the statements each month, and... everything else is pretty standard. (Except for BOS, but I honestly don't use that one anyway... *g*)
