The only thing that made me tilt my head a little was "So, you think that's why they don't get on?" - 'get on' being a phrase not much in use by Americans. 'Get along' would fit, maybe? I apologize for being nosy, but dialect is such a funny thing.

I used to love the snarky little scenes between Chloe and Pete. I especially used to love the way they both started off as such gamblers. I miss that.
