The main timeline would never know about it. In the splinter timeline (assuming it continues existing even though the past was changed -- and, really, this is where time-travel starts confusing the hell out of me) the generator turned into a nuclear bomb, exploding and destroying both Atlantis and the main population of Wraith. After that, I don't know.
I'm still not clear on why the gate exploded when they went back for the laptop, though?
It was meant to be caused by the Wraith attacking the city. (Even though I've since realised that canon psuedo-science doesn't support my psuedo-science here. According to canon, when a weapon shot goes through the gate, it arrives on the other side in the same form. Oh well.)
