If that is the case then I am even more impressed. I could almost feel Rodney's terror. It's the feeling you get when you know you can do the basics, but the guy who asked you to dance is better than you. And so you think, well you want to dance but (type of dance [jive]) is your very worst dance and your worried about making a fool of yourself. (I once fell over on the floor. I left soon after that).
I imagine that it's actually worse for guys because they have to decide what to do, dance their own steps and lead their partner through, and in dance the rule is "It's never the followers fault. No Matter What."
Rodney did well though when he wasn't thinking about it, and that is the trick. Teachers are always saying to the class, you need to relax and enjoy yourselves. I adore dance.
