(no subject)

Tomorrow, the Antenna Guy is coming to attach a 20' pole (and antenna) to the house. We will have TV. It's a cause for medium-to-large-scale celebration.

Also, I'll be home. Alone. Unpacking.

*snerk*

Well, I should be. However, what I'll really be doing is this little "Five Things..." Meme, should any of you want to give me a prompt.

You post a couple of five things topics, lists, categorys, whatever, in my comments section. Then, in a separate post, eventually, I'll post the answers to some your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun! Then you post this offer in your own journal, if the mood takes you.

As for fandoms... hell, give it a shot. If I don't know the fandom, I can speak up loud and say so.

1) Speaking foreign languages fluently. When it comes to ordering in an upmarket French restaurant, Casey's not entirely wrong. When it comes to watching German copshows in the office because he's the only one who gets the jokes -- it's not cool.

2) Magnetic notepads for fridges. Casey thinks they're a great idea and highly useful.

3) A developed understanding of the physical world around us (read: weather patterns). While knowing when to bring, or not bring, an umbrella is important for both health and appearance, a fascination with the Weather Channel will never become a sign of cool.

4) Compilation CDs, like "Time Life: Sounds of [insert decade here]'s". Danny hasn't bothered explaining that compilation CD's are always two degrees less cool than the most uncool song/artist featured on them. A handful of three cool songs drowning in a CD of misplaced nostaglia cannot hope to offset the uncool factor.

5) Polka-dot bowties. The logic that goes that if Dan -- a self-proclaimed authority on all that is cool and all that is not -- wears one on-air, they must be cool.

Hee!

Casey can't even corner the market in geek cool - Jeremy's gonna outgeek him every time.

Number 5 - horrifying!

Sad, but very, very true. Jeremy is a bigger geek and Danny is far smoother. Casey'll just have to settle for being an attractive middle-ground.

Number 5 - horrifying!

But true! I used to have an icon of Danny in that bowtie. It cracks me up and proves that Danny is *only* cool in comparison to the rest of the SN crowd (specifically, Casey). Compared to "normal" people, he's not actually as cool as he thinks he is.
