I thought I wasn't going to like it when I started, consent or lack there of issues, but then I got completely lost in the story.
*beams* That is a huge compliment, and thanks for giving it a try. The dubious-consent was one of the biggest difficulties with this story -- to keep it as still romance, it needed to be clear that it wasn't something Ianto wasn't consenting to. (Excuse the horrible grammar there.) Ianto was consenting for ulterior motives (a way of escaping, of staying alive) but there was still some choice there.
And Ianto was very Ianto in spite of the AU-ness, so I couldn't do anything but love him and oh! when he asks Jack to leave the gun to kill himself and then when Jack injects him that thing.

Ianto is utterly lovable!
