Beta-readers

My go-to list of beta-readers has basically expired. (It's been a while since I've written anything, and people get busy.) I'm not a huge fan of contacting people out of the blue, so I was hoping to gather a list of volunteers.

If you'd be interested, please leave me an email contact and maybe a note about preferred fandoms and personal squicks (I don't think anything I'd write would hit anyone's triggers, but it's always better to be cautious).

When I have something ready to be beta-read, I will email and ask (and completely understand if you don't have time right now). It'd just be nice to have a clearer idea of who'd be potentially willing.

When I'm able, I will beta / alpha / cheer / handhold anything. If it's a fandom I don't know, I can't speak to canon compliance or accuracy of character, but I can still look over a story for logic, readability, typos. You can always ask; if I have the time, I'm in.

Understood completely. I don't mind asking various people for a beta because if I get a no, or even no answer, it's fine. I keep going until I find someone.

But when it comes to idea bouncing, or hand-holding, or cheer-leading, I'm reluctant to ask. I'm happy to provide, though.

*points up*

What she said. Happy to do it. EXCEPT for me it'll have to be a fandom I know, cos otherwise I just lose interest. :P

Though I'm crap at grammar, so it'll be mainly plot, characterisation and stuff like that.

Also, will be back in Melb in Jul, YOU WILL MAKE A TRIP INTO TOWN! I was also going to ask you if you wanted any furniture, I need to sell my shit. Though getting it from my place to yours might be a bit problematic.... :P

Awesome!

Eh... do you need shelves? I'll probably need to sell some of them. Or a punching bag, you need one of those?

If you're interested, they're normal book shelves. I have 2 tall ones (4-5 shelves I think, there are 2 in the living room), 1 small one that's about... 4ft high? These will be going cheap ($15-$30 each).

Some a bit more expensive ones are the better quality IKEA stuff, including a small free standing IKEA wardrobe (bloody heavy proper wood, basically this one only with matching door in birch colour instead of white door, and I don't have the internal shelves, just the hanging rail inside). I used this for all my long dresses and coats.

And a thin but tall Billy bookcase that I used to store my CDs (this one in birch veneer).

For this last 2, I'm basically looking at $35 or so for the Billy bookcase and $180 or thereabouts for the wardrobe since I got that for almost $300 in 2011 or so I think. The bloody door, hinges, and the hanging rail were sold separately and they all added up to the costs. :/

Nah, I'm going to put them up on gumtree. Just thought I'd ask in case you want anything.
