To David!
You know, I love fics where the character's get drunk, and they *feel* drunk. You know, the ones where you read it, and can't help thinking, yeah, I've felt like that. These Friends of Mine is one of those fics. Sam, Donna, Bonnie and Ginger getting drunk on the beach. It completely captures that lovely, relaxed, content feeling that goes along with a good buzz. And that slightly melancholy turn that you can take if you have a little too much. It's just a great atmospheric piece.

I was talking to some Brisey slashers last night, and they mentioned that the way that they built up the local fandom was by having kinda regular slasher house parties. It sounds like a lot of fun, so I might see if I can organise something.
I mean, my place might be a little out of the way, but it is easily accessable by public transport, and since it's a two beddy townhouse with only one person living here, there's plenty of space in the lounge room for a group of people. Plus, as well as my single bed, there's an uncomfortable double bed, two folding out foam couches and a three seater couch, which means that there's space for people to stay the night if they want.
However, I don't have a DVD player, so if people wanted to watch DVD's, they'd need to bring the player. But, we could watch stuff on computer (Buffy, Firefly) or vids. Of course, I don't have a lot of fannish vids, either, but if everybody brought a tape or two that would be easily fixed.
I think I should start up a Melbourne slashers mailing list to figure out organisation.

Now, I need to go to Genie's. I'm going to be late, damnit. I'd better email her and let her know.
