Queer Eye...
*squee*
Saw Queer Eye for the Straight Guy last night. Man, haven't laughed that much since... well, since last Monday night when I watched Life Support. So, now I have two amusing lifestyle shows sharing the same timeslot. Thank heavens for my VCR. *bg*
Anyway, as for Queer Eye..., I can't quite pick a favourite yet. (Feel free to correct me when I mix up the names.)
Karson/Fashion Guy rocks ("Those aren't spirit fingers." Hee! "You put the lounge where the crack den used to be.") but I've also got a major soft spot for Ted/Food Guy with his funky glasses and interesting voice. Then again, I like Kyan/Grooming Guy, who was pretty fun too, and the Thom/Interior Design Guy (didn't catch his name) was quiet but worked wonders. Only one I don't like is Jai/Culture Guy... *shruggs* He bugs me.
*hugs
happyminion* Thanks for the rec, doll. I *really* enjoyed it.

She pointed out the error of my ways. Or, more correctly, the errors of my memory when it comes to names and faces. I could have sworn it was Jai=Grooming Guy, and Thom=Culture Guy, but it's not.

carson=fashion, yes
and ted=food
but, jai=culture
thom=interior design
and kyan=grooming
so which was the one that actually bugged you?

See? I thought I'd remembered four out of five correctly. This is why when I say I have trouble with names, I mean I have trouble with names. (It's also the reason why for the first four eps of WW that I watched I thought Sam=Josh and Josh=Sam. *shruggs* I don't know, Sam just seemed like a Josh to me...)
carson=fashion, yes
and ted=food
Hee! Okay, I got my two fave right...
but, jai=culture
thom=interior design
and kyan=grooming
Kyan? *blinks* Okay, odd name, but he's still the one who makes me think of Lindsey McDonald from Angel, and he seems kinda fun.
Thom, I liked because he's damned handy. I was so impressed.
Jai? Bugs the hell out of me. He just does.

Liked Ted too. And he can cook!

Hmmmm... It's like they couldn't decide what the "Culture Guy" should be doing. You've got the grooming/fashion/looks side of things covered with Kyan and Carson. You've got the practical living/decorating/eating side of it covered with Ted and Thom. (*looks at names* I'm thinking someone likes alliteration. Heh.)
What's Jai doing? He's giving tips on personal presentation, body language and social skills. Which isn't really "culture"... Maybe if he was "Social Skills Guy" (or something a little less dorky) I'd dislike him less. It's false advertising, I tell you! *g*
Plus, it's just something about him personally that bothers me. He's irritating.

Carson/Fashion Guy -- Love him, would have to murder him if I met him for real.
Kyan/Grooming Guy -- I want this pretty, pretty boy to be straight. *sigh* Okay, he doesn't have to be straight, he just has to be *mine*
Thom/Decorating Guy -- Sweetie
Ted/Food and Wine Guy -- My fav
Jai/Culture Boy -- He's twelve! I mean, he's TWELVE!!!! *g*
Hope this helps.

Hee! Can't argue with that. He's great fun, but not as a real friend.

Hmmm... He just reminds me of Lindsey McDonald from Angel (no idea of the actors name). The similarity kept niggling at me all through the show, so I'm a little biased towards this pretty boy.
Thom/Decorating Guy -- Sweetie
And handy! Damn the boy, that's impressive.
Ted/Food and Wine Guy -- My fav
The glasses! The voice! I'm already a bit of a sucker for him, even though I haven't seen enough of him to be this fond.
Jai/Culture Boy -- He's twelve! I mean, he's TWELVE!!!! *g*
Still bugs me. Maybe it'll wear off a bit with the next ep. *patiently waits for next week*

Mmmmm... Christian Kane. Another very pretty pretty boy. And you're not wrong... someone did a "seperated at birth?" pairing with those two.
The sad thing with Jai is that he rarely has anything to do, so he spends a lot of time hanging around without much purpose. Poor Jai.

FAB FIVE!!!!!!!
My favorite is Thom. LOVE Thom. He'll work wonders with *every* single shithole that they take on, every week. Just you wait and see. And his "Oh. My. GOD!"s are priceless. You'll be watching for them like the catch phrase that they are.
But without a doubt, Carson singlehandedly steals the show EVERY episode. He's the breakout star. They say he's getting movie role offers! *giggle* And Ted...oh god, Ted's sense of humor kills me. So very dry. And he comes up with some very *clever* marinades and sauces. Jai...took a while to grow on me, but now I want to pet him.
Kyan is my sister's favorite, and dude...Kat posted pics a couple of days ago and he's dating one of the guys from QaF, US!
Ummm. I'm a big fangirl. Welcome! *g*

Hee! It's "When Fandoms Collide"!
Would I lie to you?? *g*
Well... not that I thought you would. It's just that when it comes to fandom, one girl's treasure is frequently another girl's trash. Hence, I was a bit wary...
FAB FIVE!!!!!!!
*squees* Yes, indeed.
Although, I may need to stop referring to Sam, Josh, Toby and CJ of West Wing as the "Fab Four" before it gets confusing.
