So, the virus scanner is finally installed and running. (No, it didn't take me all this time to get it up and moving. I lay down to watch The One with my brother, and saw the first 90 seconds before crashing for four hours... *g*)

I had no viruses, but about 25 spyware/adware programs. It's cleared most of them, but four of them are in the C/_RESTORE folder and are write protected. I can't clear them, or even see the files... *sigh* Any ideas?

Yes, install and run these:

CWShredder
Adaware
Spybot

They are all free to download, just google for them. If you can't find CWshredder I'll email it to you.

Use Spybot after Adaware, by the way. Not really important, but spybot recognises adaware and nurses it, but adaware will try to kill spybot.
