Fic Posting

At the moment, I post everything to LJ. I post snippets of fics, I post WIPs, I post completed but unbeta'd fics, and I post the final product. I'm thinking this might be annoying for some people, so we have a poll.

"I'll read anything" doesn't sound very complimentary ... h'm, I'll think of a more diplomatic way to put it some time later. When it doesn't take me ten minutes to remember the word 'diplomatic', perhaps.

I'm insulting my fanbase, am I?

*sticks tongue out*

There you see, I shouldn't comment until I'm awake. (Voice off, probably one of the cats): "It's midday you lazy ratbag!!"

Yes, well ... Um, 'lazy ratbag' is a pretty fair call ...

No, no, I meant the other way round, "I'll read anything" was what I was about to say. Then I thought that it was subtextually non-complimentary. Then I thought that 'subtext' was a bit bleedin' pretentious at this hour. Then I remembered that 'pretentious' is my middle name, no matter what the hour ...

*Sigh* I feel I should stop talking now. Can I go back to bed? Yes of course I can. May I ...?

So, not flattering to me? *shrugs* That's okay. Considering half of the wips never get finished, I've gotta be open to a little criticism.

Well, that's fundamentally my problem, I'm really bad at criticism, and I don't think there's any of your SN stuff that I haven't enjoyed without reservation - you come up with interesting situations, and your characterisations ring true. Only 'without reservation' isn't really constructive.

Anyway. I really am happy to read whatever you post, and it has nothing to do with my being so bored at work that I'd read the backs off cornflake packets if here were any to hand, I enjoy reading it at home, too. And, indeed, re-reading. Although so far the white dress shirt one's been my favourite.

*smiles*

Oh, I get that. There are some authors that as long as I'm in the fandom, I'll read almost anything they post. (Maybe not het... but sometimes that too.)

And, it may not be critically constructive, but it never hurts to have someone bounce in with enthusiasm. *wide grin*

Please keep posting everything. Because that way I get more than one chance to read it, and am less likely to miss your stories. Except the popslash, because that comes under option 4! *g*

Popslash? Babe, I barely write that... I think I've written one fic... *wonders*

Well, if you don't read it, I guess that would explain why you think I write it. *g*

It's probably because you rec popslash sometimes. Don't you? Hmm, I really shouldn't still be woozy, even if it was a good party! *g*

[identity profile] out-there.livejournal.com 2004-04-05 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I went through a stage earlier of recing popslash. Since then, I've been hijacked into SN fandom... *g*
