out_there: B-Day Present '05 (I Suck)

Do you think everyone's born with a work ethic?

If so, what happened to mine?

***

I am officially a crush-free zone. *grins widely* I don't know why I'm so pleased with this, but I am.

***

In other, more sense-making news, I posted False Impressions, otherwise known as the partner fic. (Officially, I *love* all betas who offer title suggestions. I suck at them so much, and then people offer these ideas that make me grin and think, "Hey, that's a really cool use of words.")

***

And, in other news that we already knew, I should be stopped. I should not sit here and write fic. I almost resisted it today, but... well, a short fic for [livejournal.com profile] speshope barely counts, right? And a couple tiny snippets for [livejournal.com profile] celli shouldn't count either...

*sighs* Yes, I suck. My work ethic sucks. And all I want is for today (and my lack of productivity) to be over. It hasn't been a bad day, I'm just sick of it now. (Plus, Mum offered to pick me up. From *work*. That's like an... extra hour's drive for her, even though she was already out and about. I'm so looking forward to it.)

I was born with work ethic - only mine says "do as little as possible"

*cracks up*

Maybe that explains mine, too. *g*

I've got yours, so don't worry about it. I know it may not seem like it, given the number of times I show up on LJ during the working day, but I actually work quite hard at this crappy job. A lot harder than it merits. A lot harder than my salary, if you can call it that, merits! Although since, as I've often complained, what I get paid just about entitles them to have me turn up at midday, drink a cup of tea and go home again, any actual work they get out of me is a bonus.

How I identified with all those ambitionless, crappy-jobbed people in Little City ... Other than the fact that they were all gorgeous and had hot 'n' cold running sex, often with Josh Charles, on demand that is, the resemblance ended there.

I think my work ethic was surgically removed at birth. :)
