Officially, it's a background viral infection (which I went "Awhatna?", and he explained it's a flu that's just been hanging around) and my ears are slightly pink (a possibly bacterial infection).

Hence, I've been given a short course of antibiotics for the ears, and recommended painkiller and rest for the flu.

ETA: On the good side, the internet makes me feel much better. I'm currently giggling at [livejournal.com profile] baggers Angel/BtVS mood icons, and staring at [livejournal.com profile] dinanimo's scans of Beyonce.

*nods* Very true, and the reasons why mum would *never* consider letting me get anti-biotics for something as mild as pimples (I've had friends who did, and who also went on the pill for it. Luckily, my skin isn't acne, just minor outbursts of pimples).

But, on the other hand, I do get ear infections easily. Always did as a kid. Even if the antibiotics do nothing for the flu, it'll stop me coming down with a bad ear infection, since my immune systems already been beaten by the flu.

And I'm inclined to say sleep helps a lot. Of course, that assumes that I'd spend a day off in bed sleeping, and not, say, online writing ficlets. *g*

Cruelly, there's not really anything one can do for acne anyway. But on the bright side ... Cameron Diaz gets it. And spots are fun to squeeze.

Staying online and writing ficlets would be good for everyone else's health, if you're feeling selfless and self-immolatory. (Is that a word? Is that a spelling?!) But going to bed and having Proper Sleep would be better for you.
