I don't like Mondays...

Monday morning. It's a special type of hell.

I'm looking at [livejournal.com profile] tangleofthorns's "ask my characters" meme responses and am highly impressed. Check it out. You can hear each of the WW characters in their answers. That's damn good characterisations. *stares in awe*

Meanwhile, even though both she and [livejournal.com profile] therealjae have opened their characters up to questions, there just isn't anything I want to ask them. It's strange, but I'm slightly intimidated by asking the questions... *shakes head* Or, maybe it's just gut instinct saying avoid other people's characterisations when you're having trouble figuring out your own. *g*

All the same, I have the urge to ask them "How is life like a train?". Not that I expect any incredibly meaningful answer, just that the thought of actually asking the WW cast this, and seeing the WTF expressions on their faces, amuses me.

It's odd, that there's some characters I want to talk to and there's other's that I'd run screaming from. The WW are too intelligent, too efficient, too fundamentally good. They intimidate me.

The SV crew? I'd like to get to know Lois, but Clark, Lex, Chloe, and the rest? Not so interested in them either. Maybe I'm just not in a curious mood. *shruggs*

I'll blame it on Monday.

Hey, it's a bank holiday in NSW. Bugger! That means that there's a couple of tasks that should have been done Friday (I was sick and unproductive) and will now have to wait until Tuesday. Can you tell it's a Monday?

Thank God it's lunchtime...

Work's just... it's not a bad day, I'm busy, the time's going fast and I'm enjoying it as much as I normally do, but I'm just tired. The next time I stay up late on a Sunday night, you have my permission to kick me very hard. I have a strong feeling I did the same last weekend, too. Mondays would not be so horrible if I didn't sabotage myself by staying up to midnight on the Sunday.

Anyway, enough of RL. I was going to do the writer's meme (and I will, someday), but it just turned into whining about WW. See? )

I've been thinking about [livejournal.com profile] elke_tanzer's post. She mentions her favourite characters and the themes that attract her to them. This got me thinking about my favourites.

Thinking about favourites... )

(no subject)

Anyone around and awake want to volunteer for WW beta duty? It's a only short fic... and... I'll be your best friend! *g*

Hey, it's where I'd fit anyway, so I'm amused. Plus, the picture is all kinds of cute.

On the other hand, I had trouble finishing off my WW fic, and now I think my beta reader's gone to bed. Bugger. *kicks Sam* All his fault. He couldn't get his thoughts straight.

*kicks Sam again, just for the hell of it*

Yeah, I'm feeling a little bitchy...

Good beta!

I think [livejournal.com profile] kaneko is now my official best friend. The sign of a good beta for me? Someone who can pull me back and remind me that just because there's more words in this version, doesn't mean it's better.

In other words, an almost 2000 word fic just got pruned to under 1700. Technically, a bit more could go, but I like it, so I'm waiting and thinking about it. On the one hand, it is a bit like an inventory list. On the other, I could just imagine Sam thinking things through logically like that. *shruggs* Right now, I'm going to bed.

Oh, but I did catch part of QaFUS. Mikey as Stepmom? Very cute!
