I'm officially blah...

Spent yesterday in bed, snoozing and watching tapes. Missed taping the end of Tank Girl which is mildly annoying, since I'll probably never bother to hire the film, so I'll never know what happened. But I can guess.

I also spent some time watching WW again. My favourite season 2 episodes are:

1. Somebody's going to Emergency, Somebody's going to Jail because of woobie!Sam, and CJ dealing with the Cartographers Against Inequality

2. In the Shadow of Two Gunmen because it's slashy and the flashbacks rock. (Hey, I'm planning on introducing WW to fannish friends using this double episode. Can anyone else see any difficulty with that?)

3. Noel because of woobie Josh. I swear, if you haven't fallen for Josh, when you see that episode you love him completely. Plus, there's Leo's 'Friends in a Hole' story which makes me smile every time.

4. Galileo for several reasons. CJ's evening gown (the dark blue skirt and shawl, with a white and black top...which I love), the CJ-Toby and CJ-Sam snark, Sam being bitchy (we're both writers "if you expand the definition to those who can spell" and his comments about Mallory's hockey-player boyfriend) and the entire atmosphere of hope surrounding the space travel. I like it so much.

5. This spot is hotly debated, but it goes to The Leadership Breakfast because of the teaser for that episode. I love Josh and Sam starting the fire, and I like CJ being proved right about where to hold the press conference. (Although Ann Stark can bug me a bit.)

Hmmm... It's amusing that my favourite episodes all occur before SGTE,SGTJ. I'm mentally just around that episode in S2. Mainly it's a case of I want to finish the WW fic before I get distracted with other ideas. Hence, I refuse to think about them.

Sorry I missed your birthday, but better late than never, right?

I'm still... nyeh.

I'm not quite in the mood for reading fic. I currently have about five fics open and ready to read, and can't quite be bothered. So, I think it's quiz time. quiz )

It's official. I just don't want to do anything today. *g*

Debchan wrote a Discworld/Harry Potter crossover. Complete with references to dirty song lyrics and everything! So much fun. *g*

I had an irritating mental block. I couldn't think of waht to call a bartender.

Yeah, I know, what a dorky thing to go blank on. All I could think of was barkeep, and publican, which is a pretty outdated English term. In Australia's defense, I think I'm the only one who thinks of them as barkeeps or publican.

Whatever happened to stories working the way they're supposed to?

No, I have uppity characters who won't do what they're told. Sam refuses to do anything other than drink and make bad jokes with Donna, and Josh wants to just sit there and laugh at the two of them.

Fine. If they want to be like that, I'm leaving this for another day. In fact, if Sam's going to sit around happily buzzed, I'm going to follow suit.

I should be in bed, but instead I'm reading Sorkin fic, specifically, S.N. Kastle's Sorking fic which is here. highly enjoyable, all of it. Lovely grasp of these guys, who feel like guys and talk around things like guys, and it's just highly enjoyable.

Plus, one of the fics Falling, Flying, Tumbling was written to Paul Simon's Graceland. You need to understand how much I love this song, how familiar it is to me. This is a tape that used to play in the car over and over, that I could sing the words to every track, that memories of singing it will always be merged with driving around Canberra, with road trips and family vacations taken as a child, with the mental image of being young, with a seatbelt over one shoulder, resting my head against the strap and watching the scenery outside my window as I sang along to the music.

It's also a CD that I own as an adult, that I like to listen to every so often, and that always rests on top of my computer, in easy reaching distance. It's filled with wonderful rhythms and poetic languange, and one of my favourite songs is Graceland with the lovely lyrics of And I may be obliged to defend every love, every ending, or maybe there's no obligations now.

*happy sigh* Yeah, I was thrilled by this fic. Nothing better than a fic with a virtual soundtrack that you know and love.
