out_there: A present for my 25th birthday (SGA: Reading Rodney by Celli)
The stories I wrote for the SGA Secret Santa this year:

***

Grinching (1283 words) by out_there
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Rodney McKay/John Sheppard
Additional Tags: SGA Secret Santa 2014
Summary:

"Really?" John asks. "Because if this is you spreading joy and goodwill to all men, I don't think you're doing it right. You've been grinching."

***

Remedial Gun-Holding (and Other Survival Skills) (3270 words) by out_there
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: John/Rodney, Evan Lorne/Parrish
Additional Tags: SGA Secret Santa 2014
Summary:

"They need the training we originally planned for them," John says, sweetly sarcastic. "That you vetoed."

"Now that we're no longer in danger of being trapped behind doors that won't work, suffocating from a lack of clean air while the city crumbles around us and sinks into oblivion, I think that training would be a good idea. Feel free to go ahead with it now. You have my blessing." Rodney knows he's being obnoxious but he doesn't particularly care.

He cares even less when John's mouth twists into a smirk. John looks away, like that'll hide how amused he is when Rodney's the right kind of obnoxious.

I've been catching up on comments and bookmarks, and suddenly realised I'd forgotten to squee wildly about the podfic for SGA The Holiday Season by [livejournal.com profile] cheetahliv!

I wrote the story ages ago, because holiday mishaps and John/Rodney seemed like the perfect combination for a little long-suffering humour, but hearing it aloud was such a pleasant surprise. The lines were funnier than I remembered adn the reader does a lovely job of bringing John's sarcastic, slightly disbelieving POV to life.

It's a little late for Christmas-related stories (my fault entirely, sorry; I should have passed this link on to everyone ages back) but oh! Shiny! *twirls*
out_there: B-Day Present '05 (Reading Rodney by Celli)
From the Drabble Meme last weekend. (I was going to wait until I'd finished them all, but since the SN ones are the only ones outstanding, I'm going to post them in fandoms.)

***

For [livejournal.com profile] scribewraith: Some Days (SGA, Zelenka)

Sometimes, Radek has slept well and will humour McKay; other times, he will sit at his desk and mutter Czech curses under his breath. )

For [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore: "The Pot Calling the Kettle--" (SGA, McShep, prompt: kiss and make up.)

Carson had Rodney McKay and John Sheppard in his infirmary. Having those two constantly within hearing distance made reading -- or just thinking -- extremely difficult. )

Title: Even When Drunk
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: Rodney/John
Disclaimer: Not mine. No. Really.
Notes: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] seperis for audiencing (and standing firm on the age-old motto: ‘friends don’t let friends drunk-post to LJ’). Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kmousie for a well-needed beta.

Summary:
Placing two hands on the sides of his chair, John straightened himself.

And took a deep breath.

Then he said, in his most sober, in-control, trust-me-I'm-an-air-force-employee tone, "Totally sober."

This is [livejournal.com profile] seperis's fault. It had something to do with the merits of characterisation. *shrugs*

Other Men's Heads )

Title: The Fruit That Tempts Us
Fandom: SGA
Spoilers: None, really.
Summary: Because Rodney is -- above all else -- practical, he leaves and doesn't taunt himself with what he knows he can't have.
Rating: R
Disclaimer: I don't own them, I make no money from them.
Notes: A short sequel to Back to the Old Ways, written at [livejournal.com profile] aurora_84's request. Unbetaed so all mistakes are totally mine.

The Fruit That Tempts Us )

Title: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: Rodney/John
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: The boys aren't mine.
Authors Notes: Originally started for the Harlequin challenge, but certainly not finished in time. It's an AU, so no spoilers. I completely blame Patrick Swayze and Dirty Dancing for this. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin for a careful beta and [livejournal.com profile] scribewraith for listening, prodding and offering editing solutions as I wrote. Without those two, this would be a lot shorter and make far less sense. ETA: also thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kmousie who has discovered my lack of knowledge when it comes to the possessive apostrophe.

ETA: Now also available in audio form, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hack_benjamin22. How cool is that?

Summary, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] delurker:
Life is great for Dr Rodney McKay, a research theorist at Berkeley. He's managed to arrange it so that he sees students only rarely, and he's getting laid frequently by fellow MENSA member and ecology professor Christine. What more could a man want?

Unfortunately for Rodney, it turns out that Christine wants more. Faced with her demands that he learn to dance or she'll dump him, Rodney turns to John Sheppard: part-time dance instructor and full time bank-teller, with a dream of becoming a pilot.

John's supposed to be teaching him how to waltz, but Rodney's learning a lot more than that! But what will happen when the music ends?

Title: That Walketh in Darkness
Fandom: SGA
Summary: John was muttering about governments and secrets, and saying in a torn, horrified voice: clones, Rodney, clones.
Disclaimer: Not mine
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn and [livejournal.com profile] seperis's 13 Challenge. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] scribewraith for a quick beta, even if I didn't agree about the capitals (I could be wrong). Heavily "inspired" by The Island (which I'll recommend as a great action film filled with pretty, pretty people). The title comes from Psalm 91:

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

Title: A Regular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: John/Rodney
Summary: When stuck in a time dilation field, Rodney learns Mad Ninja Skillz.
Disclaimer: Not mine. So not mine.
Authors Notes: Crackfic, obviously, and written for [livejournal.com profile] spaggel and [livejournal.com profile] slodwick who totally promised art in return. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] justabi for betaing.

Title: The Never-Ending Flight of Future Days.
Fandom: SGA
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Characters: John, Radek
Summary: The halls of Atlantis feel bright and sterile, hard straight lines that lead John to horrible places, to the infirmary, to his quarters, to the labs. They all seem wrong.
Authors' Notes: Hmmm. I swear this was going to be Sheppard/Zelenka porn when I started. Then I got distracted.

Title: Puddlejumper Paranoia
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: Gen
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] seperis. Apparently, I'm all about the short'n'easy drabbles at the moment, given this story and the SN ones yesterday. Can we tell I'm procrastinating about fixing the WTF wip?

I got my lj fixed! Even if I'm not writing Casey, I now have an excuse to stare at him (because he's on the top of my FList too).

Title: The Holiday Season
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: John/Rodney
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Pshaw. Like I'd ever claim to actually own them.
Summary: John suffers a series of Christmas misadventures (and he's sure Rodney's to blame).
Notes: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin for betaing.

Title: All That You've Seen
Fandom: SGA
Summary: Coming to Atlantis didn't change John.

All that you've seen has left you unchanged... )
out_there: B-Day Present '05 (Geekgasm!)
Title: The Chart
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: John/Rodney
Summary: Rodney misses John more than Cheetos and cappuccino muffins.
Disclaimer: Dude, even the chart wasn't my idea.
Notes: Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] spaggel's drawing here but too long for a comment-drabble (just over the character count). Unbeta'd and flufftastic.

The Chart )

Title: At Gunpoint
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: John/Rodney
Rating: NC17.
Summary: "Strip." The Beretta's on John's skin again, the heat of the muzzle sliding over the side of John's jaw. "Jacket first."
Disclaimer: Not mine; no profit; blah, blah, blah, disclaimer-cakes.
Notes: Weapons-porn PWP. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dzurlady for the speedy beta. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] seperis, [livejournal.com profile] scribewraith and [livejournal.com profile] celli for audiencing and encouraging. Also, Jenn's right: you can never have too much weapons-porn.

At Gunpoint )
out_there: B-Day Present '05 (Dr Z Don't speak by not_a_painter)
Title: Nightmares
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: Rodney/John preslash, I guess.
Summary: Rodney's the type of kid that won't sleep from nightmares and won't tell anyone.
Disclaimer: They still aren't mine.
Notes: I totally blame this on [livejournal.com profile] seperis because she posted a kid!John wip and made me wonder why I never wrote up my kid!Rodney idea. So I did. And now I want to curl up in bed and cuddle Rodney until he falls asleep. (Also, unbeta'd.)
ETA: Now with an incredible cover by [livejournal.com profile] tardis80.
ETA2: And a fantastic, gleeful sequel by [livejournal.com profile] reccea, Find Your Way. *twirls*

Title: Cold around the Edges
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: McKay/Zelenka
Rating: R (more adult themes -- death -- than actual smut)
Summary: "We're the ones who do the impossible. We're the ones that find the solution when there is none. We're the ones that fix this."
Disclaimer: The boys, Wraith and technology don't belong to me. Really.
Notes: Originally meant to be written for [livejournal.com profile] ekaterinn (for the SV & SGA Flashfic Challenge) who requested "Zelenka and McKay discover time travel" (before I had to drop out due to real life and bad timing). This probably isn't what she meant. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] monkeypumpkin for betaing and [livejournal.com profile] seperis for advice.
