I was very tempted to title this post "One of these things is not like the other" (because I grew up on Sesame St reruns) or "Three Kingsman and an Epic" (because I also grew up on 80s comedies) but practicality won out. Plus, I remembered a fourth story as I was typing, so I lost my 3 + 1 pattern to make those references work.
Kingsman:Firstly, I am a sucker for a good intense romance. For loving someone down to your bones and being a little terrified of it, and this story worked for me. I loved the Eggsy POV -- a little foul-mouthed but still sweet, very familiar with Disney tropes but probably still has a terrible foxtrot -- and Harry through his eyes is irresistible. (Plus, I adore the idea of them playing spy-tag in the hallways during Eggsy's training. It's such a lovely thought.)

Summary: This is turning into one hell of a fairytale.
(or, the one in which Eggsy never dreamed of the Cinderella life and ends up living it anyway.)
From romance to Lovecraft-style eldritch horrors, we have "The Monsters are Alright". Because Harry/Merlin is an attractive possibility and if anyone could convincingly be an ancient eldritch horror beneath the accent and charm, it's Harry Hart.

Summary: As ruined weekends go, Merlin thinks with mounting despair, nothing quite beats being dumped by the love of your life and landing on babysitting duty minding the eldritch horror too ancient to have a name in any language, living or dead. The eldritch horror insists that Merlin call him Harry.
Smut. Utter smut of the "trapped together with an aphrodesiac" / sex pollen trope. Which is hot when it's done well, and this was done well.

Summary:
"What sort of aggression is it then?" Eggsy asks, cutting right to the heart of the matter.
Harry knows even before he hears the response. Knows because even as Merlin is saying, "It appears to affect sexual responses. Activating latent desire and cranking up the subject’s sex drive whilst simultaneously increasing pheromone production," Harry is thinking primarily of the distance between himself and Eggsy and how very few steps it would take to be within range to push the boy to the floor and pin him there.
ETA: I lied, one more Kingsman rec that I almost forgot. Just a tiny thing, and not even especially slashy, but I loved the concept. No, I loved Harry's reaction to the concept. It made me fall just a little bit more for the character, and that's saying something.

Avengers:
I have been following this wip for months. And then it ended and I kept procrastinating so I would have to read the last chapter and have it finish. But it did, and it's lovely, and it's
long, and so I'm reccing it. It has aspects I usually steer away from -- multiple POVs, strong emphasis on plot and action, multiple romances -- but it caught me by secretly starting just with Phil and Clint on a tiny little island, isolated from the world as they fell for each other (a trope I do love beyond words) and then suckered me in with the two of them working towards putting everything right. The word count is kind of terrifying, but the story itself started well and kept the momentum going.

Clint Barton has been a circus act, a mercenary, a spy, and a superhero-- now he’s a wanted man, and a half-drowned one to boot.
When they start trying to clear Clint's name, events spiral out of control in ways they can't imagine. Their lives will never be the same -- and neither will the Avengers, SHIELD, and the entirety of Long Beach Island, NJ.
