A Monopoly on the Truth: Prison Break, Alex/Michael, 1,112 words

November:
Your New Twin Sized Bed: Prison Break, Alex/Michael/Sara, 10,770 words
Alex takes a two bedroom apartment that's close to his new office. The main bedroom is serviceably large, but it seems too big after months spent in a cabin, feels too empty after sharing a small boat with Michael and Sara, so Alex buys a large desk and makes it a study. The second room is tiny, but it fits a twin sized bed and a bedside table.

Cooking with Brad Bellick is a lot like sharing a prison with him. It's an experience Alex never wants to relive.
Find Yourself Smiling: Prison Break, Alex/Michael/Sara, 3,900 words
She should discuss it with Alex, but then she'd have to talk about Wyatt, about the screams, about his conscious choice to inflict pain on a living human being, and Sara doesn't know how to do that without accusing, without blaming Alex for doing exactly what he promised he'd do.

Every time, Michael tries to talk around it -- claims he's feeling fine, claims there's no point in investigating if he's not showing any symptoms, claims it's his health and his life and he should get to decide whether or not he needs medical attention -- but it always comes down to one thing: it scares Michael.

Total words written: 137,305
Every year, I'm surprised by the sheer number of stories and words that I churn out. (Every year, I think of myself as a not-too-frequent writer, someone with far more wips than output, and feel vaguely guilty that I don't devote more time to trying to finish half the stuff I start. Turns out that guilt is... not entirely necessary, I guess.) I wrote more than last year (total word count: 81,861) but I don't know if I included the 13,637 words I'd written on "Mohinder's Mom", so this year's total...
Actually, this years total doesn't count anything I have in wip status, and I think I'd have about 10,000 words spread across the half dozen wips, so it probably evens out.
The fandom stats are interesting. It really proves that for me to write in a fandom, I have to fall hard for a pairing. Jack/Ianto pushed all my buttons, Alex/Michael or Alex/Michael/Sara makes me surprisingly happy, and Matt/Mohinder seems to have completely disappeared from canon which is probably why I haven't written any Heroes fic this year. (Also, the storylines are... not of the fascinating and no longer adorably domestic, so that's a contributing factor too.)
It's kind of added incentive for me to focus on the PB wips and get them finished before the show finishes for good. Because once the show-love is gone (or a New Shiny comes to replace it), the wips can sit in limbo forever. (Case in point: my Heroes undercover AU. I need to get back to it, and yet... I keep getting distracted.)
