But here it is, almost midnight, and I've realised that the whole thing is one 33k-word high point.
Oh, thank you! That's such a lovely thing to hear.
This was so well-written, and you didn't put a foot wrong in the characterisations. I feel like I've just read a book, the plotting was so good and so seamlessley executed. Amazing!
*beams*
Also, "Lestrade's little attempt at authority"? Awww, Lestrade. It's funny because it's true.
But at least Lestrade *tries*. Even if it barely works, he still tries. You have to love the guy for that.
And "Sherlock considers London a necessity, like oxygen" - I didn't realise it, but that's exactly how I feel about my beloved city and I hope that you won't mind if I start using it as my reason when I get asked (as I do all the time), why in the world I live here when I could live back in sunny Australia.
You're most welcome to use it! It's probably a better rational than "at least here, buildings are constructed for the cold and the grey skies are expected". (Yes, I am a little bitter about Melbourne and Victoria's current cold spell and overcast skies. This is not the weather I'd expect two weeks before Summer starts.)
