out_thereRhiannonhero's screenname meme... Years ago, I signed up for a hotmail email account, and being a very worldly and mature 15 thought that "out_there" sounded cool. That was my reason for picking it. As I am sometimes known for having the memory of a goldfish, I kept both the password and login name for all future things. *g*
Apart from TWoP, even when I used out_there, I still signed stuff as "Annie!" (the exclaimation mark has since been dropped!), so we know privacy isn't such a big thing to me...
It's occuring to me that I'm backing away from SV fandom. Hmmm... Maybe not the fandom per se, I still love the Clex, I'm just sick of the fan community. I don't want to be spoiled about next season and I won't be seeing the next season for months to come. It comes down to the basic fact that I'd like to see SV without knowing the major plot points in advance, and it's pretty hard to avoid spoilers. Let's admit it, I know who Desiree is, even though I have avoided recaps and any specifically spoilerish fics. It's just been mentioned. It's in the hive mind.
If you look back a year ago, I was head over heels in love with everything SV. Got completely hooked by Te's fic, and started daily checking Te's and Jenn's blogs (although everybody seems to be using LJ these days!) and reading every SV rec I found. Also regularly checked in on Wendi, Hope and many others linked from Te's blog. These days, I couldn't be bothered. It's actually an effort to check up on my favourite SV authors, because I know, without a doubt, that people are going to reflect S2 in their fic. Fair enough for them, but as stated above, I'm trying not to be too spoiled.
Although, I'm also wondering if it's just me. Really, I don't nurture long-term friendships. Attending nine schools over thirteen years of schooling does teach you that friends come and go, and that making new friends just requires effort. It's also a case of getting bored. I go hell for leather over a new fad, get bored of it, and want something else.
Or, it could just be the heat making me cranky...
