I'm back...
Dec. 27th, 2002 10:13 pmAs per tradition, had a roast the day before Christmas, went out and ate roast on Christmas, then spent Boxing Day watchig videos, and had another roast. Since we've been trying to eat healthy lately, I really enjoyed the oil-soaked roasts (not to mention the chocolate!)
Watched Woody Allen's Small Time Crooks and wasn't particularly impressed. Not as funny as some of his other films, but still sweetly amusing. Also saw Kerr Smith in The Forsaken. That is one of those dodgy vampire films that is only worth seeing for the distinct slashy vibe. Trust me, whoever "edited" the action scenes obviously though that quick cuts between action and flashback with lots of gore was the same as building suspense and fear. (It's not. It's just annoying.) Don't watch it unless you enjoy really bad films, or have no problem fastforwarding the action to watch the pretty boys.
Not only do the boys end up together at the end, the token female 'good guy/victim' spends most of the film unconscious. (I swear, she only started talking in the last half hour of the film.) I must say that although it was obvious that our two heroes wanted to jump each others bones, this film also managed to make one of the killings as homoerotic as possible. When a male vamp kills a male victim, you'd thinking that necking him to death would be as gay as possible, right? Wrong. How about the vamp orders the guy to kneel in front of him, and then sticks the gun barrel in his mouth? ^.^
( LoTR quiz... )
Hey, the Complete Kingdom of Slash is up and going again. How long has that site been in the middle of being updated? (Long enough that I stopped checking on it.) It's pretty, and I'm off to play.
