I'm in Ravenclaw )

Heh. I'm rather pleased about this. However, I'm still going to ramble about my dream last night. Weird dream )

In other dorky news, someone at work recognised Tom Welling on my work desktop background. Is it wrong that I kinda look down on people who like watching SV for the sake of watching SV? I mean, I like it, but the big thing for me is the fact that the fic is frequently five times better than the show itself.

Of course, he also considered that the early seasons of Dawson's Creek was one of the best shows ever. *sniggers* I'm being bitchy, I know.

Also, Mum bought a new big TV (51cm? Possibly the next size up, whatever that is) and has left it here for me to use until she moves down. Yay for me!

Wow. It's nearly 1am, I forgot how fast time goes online.

Lost Boys slash. So hot. So wrong.

I couldn't help thinking that The Lost Boys reminded me of the Goonies (same fun, kids adventure vs clueless adults type of atmosphere) except with more vampires and far more subtext. Seriously, there were a couple moments when I seriously expected them to kiss (and wondered how they could be that obvious between brothers).

Well, apart from sniggering over the fact that there were two actors named Corey in the film, I also amused myself when noticing that Bill (from Bill and Ted) had ended up a vampire with bad hair, while Rob Lowe has always been ridiculously pretty. I want a picture of that particular Rob Lowe poster. Maybe make an icon out of it, or something.

Meanwhile, I know someone wrote "Rules of Attraction" slash. Was it you [livejournal.com profile] celli or [livejournal.com profile] dammitcarl? I have a strong suspicion it was one of you. I'm just asking because I've hired the film, so I'll watch it tomorrow (pretty, pretty Ian).

Heh. Well, I'm looking at lots of Rob Lowe pictures, but can't find the one I want. I did find this one though. *snerk* The hair! OMG, the hair! )

Meanwhile, I still haven't seen St Elmo's Fire, you know. However, I did find out the name of that old Rob Lowe film that had John Glover in it, it's Masquerade. Old 80s film that it is, I really enjoyed that, even if it did take me more than half of the film to recognise John Glover.

Hey, if you want to snigger at 80s hairstyles, check out The Young Hollywood Hall of Fame. Hee!

Well, since it's 5.30am, I'm going to bed. Night, all.

Man, that movie is like pulling teeth. Seriously, I must have stopped the tape about ten times and seriously considered not watching the end of it. As it was, since I'd paid for it I kept watching, but the ending was just as disconnected, disappointing and disheartening as the rest of the film.

The plot, such as it is, is basically held together by sex and drugs. The cinematic effects of playing scenes backwards just annoyed me, and I if I ever visualise James Van Der Beek having sex again I may have to swear off men for life.*

It did draw my attention to Ian Somerhalden (sp?), who has incredible eyes (as opposed to Van Der Beek who's eyes are creepily empty and soulless for the entire film). All through the film I just wanted to shake Paul (Ian's character) and tell him to stop going after straight boys because they'll just break his heart. I wasn't too pleased to be proved right.

However, there was a scene I absolutely loved. Watching two college aged guys dancing, in their boxer shorts, on a king sized bed to George Micheal's Faith? Too adorable for words!

* Mind you, considering my sex life, I doubt that will make a difference to anyone but me.
