Okay, my biological clock is totally screwed. And it's pretty much my fault, too. Last night, I stayed up until about 5am watching the rest of SN. (I've now seen all of it. Yay! And, I have notes...) Woke up at 11am, rewatched a couple favourite scenes, went home. Went to bed for a nap at 5.30pm, fell asleep at 7pm, and just woke up hungry at 12.30.

Hey, are there any fellow SN fen around who care to just quickly look over a *short* SN fic? I just need to get back into the whole habit of betaing *before* posting. *g*

Just for [livejournal.com profile] bananasrock when she comes back on line:Fear her mind )

And now, I'm going back to bed.

Of the good, the boss isn't in today!

Which is just as well, considering that I couldn't get back to sleep. So, just so you all know, I've been awake since 12.30am. Just as well I grabbed a couple of bottles of V (yay for caffeine) on my way into work.

There goes my New Years resolution to be a good little worker and not check email (already have) or LJ (ditto).

Yes, reading WW fics is what I've spent my morning doing. *g*

This rec became a bit long... but I do urge you to read these three fics and then send love letters to the author. )

Dude, when it comes to [livejournal.com profile] happyminion?

I'm not sure if she's unadulterated evil or pure fic-writing goddess. Seriously, I don't know if I should be cursing her name, or preparing an alter where I can kneel and worship her awesome talent.

I just read the conclusion to the Mxy series. If you've read it, you'll understand. If you haven't, for the love of god and good stories everywhere, go read it. Now. Don't make me track you down and force you to read it. (I will. I really, really will.)

This? Is an *epic* tale, larger than life. It's got the works; superheroes and villians; love, friendship and hatred; action and romance; wonderful characters, sparkling dialogue and stirring descriptions. This is the type of story meant to touch you, to inspire you, and to rekindle your faith in human nature. This is the type of story that makes the effort of learning to speak, read and write worthwhile.

Mind you, I would not advise reading this at work.

I don't cry over a lot. For instance, I have never cried over WW, SN, SV, BtVS or AtS. (The closest I've come is sniffling over the S2 finale of Spooks.) I cried at Titanic and Hamlet, but other than that? I can't remember the last time I cried over a fictional story.

This? Made me *cry*. Made me finish reading it, and then I had to quietly disappear into the bathroom to have a quick cry and wash my face.

The big thing about it? It's a *happy* ending. I wasn't crying because the world was doomed. I was crying because it was just that touching, dammit. It was incredible, stunning and satisfying. It was the type of fic that forces you to *feel*; that takes you for a rollercoaster ride without even warning you to strap in first; it was the type of fic that completely convinces you that this was a story that you *needed* to know.

So, I'm still not sure on the evil/goddess thing. She ruthlessly manipulated my emotions until I cried. And she made me love every second of it.

Well, that's why I'm sleeping at work instead of sleeping at home. Hence, as I'm stuck here but don't wanna do anything (like, really, really, don't), I'm going to ramble on about Sports Night. The moral decay of American sports isn't the problem. )

Well, I did no work, but I did manage to fill in the last hour. Guess who's coming in early tomorrow?
