Vids Rec (OC and SN)

barkley and can be found on her site here. Her site is password protected: the username is hiro and the password is protagonist. (And we have her permission to use that username and password.)
Basically, these are my type of vids. By that, I mean, they're simple, effective, well-cut and a nice file size (10-15Mb, meaning they can be downloaded over dial-up in about 30-60 minutes). My computer is not the newest or the fastest, so nothing annoys me more than downloading a vid and finding that the filesize is huge/the effects are super-shiny/the screen-size is huge, and that it only plays in stops and starts on my PC.
With that in mind, I'd like to point your attention to two of her vids:
Goodnight, Hollywood Boulevard, Sports Night. I see it as Dan/Casey, but you could see it as canon or as a lovely tribute to how pretty Dan is while hurting. I love the feel of the song; I love the pacing of the clips; I love the fact that the scenes that she's chosen make me love my fandom again. Part of me wants to sit down every non-SN fan and say, "Look, see, these are my boys. Watch this and love them."
And for any SN fan, when you know the context of the clips, it works even better. It has a lot of my favourite moments (even Dana doing her happy dance) and... yeah. Lots of love.
Now, to Ryan/Seth from The OC in All Because of You. The OC is one of those shows that started slashy and funny and brilliant, and by S2 had dropped dramatically in quality. However, I stand by the idea that there's a lot of people on my FList that would enjoy S1.
This vid sums up the adorability factor of Seth/Ryan. The music pick is great -- suits both the boys very well -- and the pacing is faster, more cuts, and many adorable scenes. We have Seth doing his little dance, and Ryan punching people and looking really good in a wifebeater. (Also, until I watched this vid, I hadn't noticed how often Seth does the 'lean in close and talk in your ear' thing to Ryan. I remember it happening once, but it's happened a couple of times.)
It's a vid that makes me laugh and grin.
