I'm updating everyone on my morning.

I left the house at 6.45am, for I am a loving sister who doesn't want her lil' bro to miss his train/coach combo home. I got to the city at 7.30am, stood around and waited for my lil bro's train to leave at 7.55am. (Mind you, this is complete with nine tapes in my bag: 2 are Genie's, 1 is Indy's, and 6 are Erilyn's WW S1 & S2 tapes. So the bag's a little heavy and I'm tired.)

At 8am, I decided to wander around to my uni campus to see when the computer labs and library opened. (Midday. 12 noon on a Saturday. Is it just me thinking that's a bit late? Well, it's not like I ever come in to use them on a Saturday, but still...)

Decided to go to MacDonald's, and paid $5 for an hour of 'net access on a computer with a dodgy shift* key. At 9.15am, that left me with nothing else to do, so I walked back up to the main uni campus, to see if they're library and computer labs opened any earlier. (No, they don't.)

From 9.30am to 10.15am, I stood around in a newsagent, reading this week's Who and paying attention to the fashion symbols of the last 100 years. Some of those women I don't care about and wouldn't recognise, but there are others that I've always liked. It made me realise just how few black and white (and silent) films I've ever watched.

10.15am I spotted that the State Library was open. Yay! Went over there, used the computers (with 'net access) for a little while (sometime later this weekend, I'll rec a crossing Jordan Bug/Nigel fic I came across...) and then ordered Teleny and read it. To explain, you can't borrow books at the State Library; you have to look them up on the computer, order them, and then wait 40 minutes for them to be placed on a shelf for you to pick up. All the same, sitting in a warm, comfy seat, reading gay erotica? It's a good thing.

The wording for some of the erotic parts makes me snigger (if I find it again, I'll type some out for us all to laugh at) but considering it was written a hundred years ago, I don't think I can nitpick. (Besides, phrases like "turgid organ" do appear in some bad, modern smut, and at least back then it was new and innovative. *g*) The dialogue is nice, witty and highly charming, despite the old-fashioned style of the words. Basically, reminds me of The Picture of Dorien Grey, which I enjoyed reading, even though I didn't worry about the deeper meaning of the text.

Anyway, to get back to my day, that brings us up to 12.15pm. Figuring that I'm meeting slashers for lunch (either at 12pm or 1pm - I couldn't remember, so I compromised at 12.30pm) I made my way to Taco Bill's. Guess what? It's shut.

So, at 12.40pm, I made my way around the corner to the uni computer lab to check my email. As it turns out, we are supposedly meeting at 1pm at Taco Bell, so I'm going to head around the corner and meet up with everyone outside.

* Note to self: remember to type "f" when spelling "shift".

Oh, also watched Cruel Intentions again last night. Neither little bro or me could work out what was "Uncut". There weren't any scenes I hadn't already seen last time it was screened on TV, but whatever. Pointed out to him the reason why the start of the film is my favourite part: Gay Pacey! *g*

We found out that the film is far more enjoyable when you ad-lib constant references of Vallon's true and abiding love for Gay!Pacey. The scene with the blonde, where's he's telling her she was just a conquest, and he doesn't care? Much improved when every second line refers to Pacey.

Vallon: I'm sorry. I don't love you.
Us: I love Pacey.

Vallon: You don't know me at all.
Us: Pacey does.

Vallon: You were just a conquest.
Us: Because I'm in love with Pacey.

And, of course, the phrase "he's got a mouth like a hoover" was quoted by us several times last night. Yes, we make our own fun. *bg*

Okay, going for lunch now.
