So...
I have a shocking headache. Just *pounding* behind my temples. It's not too bad at the moment, because everyone's out at lunch (Quiet office! How I love thee!) but, yeah, pain. Pain that painkillers are not removing.
(It's karmic justice, I tell you. Took a couple days off work to finish the two assignments, and got a doctors certificate even though I wasn't sick. So, of course, now I'm coming down sick. *eyes immune system warily*)
So, I'm working, but I can barely concentrate. So, I'm spending a lot fo time going, 'Where is that file? I had that file...' and slowly increasing to 'Where the fuck did I put that file?!' and then finding it in weird/random/obvious places.
My desk was clear last week. It is now a total mess. On the other hand, it's Friday, so... yay. Four hours until I have an entire weekend to relax, sleep and do the study for that damned admin course. (yes, I know I said I was going to finish that months ago. Instead, I procrastinated. 'Go me.' Or, 'I suck.' Whichever's appropriate.)
Anyway, according to the poll, I get to write Casey farewelling Natalie and Jeremy next. Okay. I already have a snippet of Casey-Nat dialogue written from last night's class. (I had to write. It was that or sleep during class. In my defense, I did pay attention to at least 2 out of the 3 hours of endless talking about super and insurance.)
Oh, on another less than thrilling thought, I realised how I stuffed up my assignment. There is a certain morbid thrill to sitting in a lecture, eyeing your assignment sitting with the rest of the pile on the teacher's desk, and mentally working out just how much you screwed up the calculations. Thinking: "It'd take a couple of hours to fix it at home, and wasn't the *technical* due date tomorrow, but then you'd need to get it back to the lecturer, and is he even on campus on Friday?" I vaguely panicked about it while taking lecture notes and then spoke to the lecturer. He said that for the amount of marks that particular part of the assignment was worth, and the amount of emphasis placed on the technical calculations (as opposed to the descriptions of the theory), it wasn't worth the effort of correcting.
And, man, what happened to my lunch hour? It's just gone. Why is lunch gone when my headache isn't? Seriously, I am paying for some lousy karma. And I hadn't even bitched about my lousy morning yet... I'll post that one in an FLocked entry.
