Stories that I enjoyed so much:
Too Much, Too Little. It's fic for "The Good Life" (or, I'm guessing Americans had the sitcom under the name "Good Neighbours") that *works* so well you'll be amazed. This has both managed to totally capture the four characters and also make me stop, blink, and look at them in a completely new light.
We Go Together. I've desperately wanted to read Danny Zuko/Kenickie slash since the last time I saw Grease. This story gives me that, and a Rizzo who's *fun*. (She and Frenchie were always my favourite girls in the film.)
Nip/Tuck stories -- especially slash -- should be complicated and confusing and make you wonder and ache. Stop Crying Your Heart Out totally does all of those, and shows Sean's weakness for wanting to order and change things to suit his psychological needs.
Moment in Time is precisely that: a moment of Scrubs. It has a perfect JD voice, as he searches for stethoscopes and wonders about monocles, and the "Stupid shoelaces." line made me laugh out loud.
And for another Scrubs gem, there's My Match which is all about the Turk/JD (non-slash, non-sexual) LOVE. This reads like one of JD's monologues, and deserves great applause for the line: "Because we're not like that, but if we were we'd be a great example for gay interracial interfaith relationships everywhere." That is why the gay-thing makes Turk a little uncomfortable: apart from the sex thing, they're so married.
No Shirt, No Boobs, No Service is a story that manages to sum up the two main reasons I watch Boston Legal: Alan and Denny. (I always thought it was Danny, but honestly I'm happy to have a fandom with a "Danny" character-name.) It's gen and slightly absurd, but also very, very funny.
Which leads well to the next story, All I Want For Christmas, which is a gen Murphy Brown Christmas fic. It left me remembering how much I used to love that show and why I have an actress-crush on Candice Bergman.
One More Night in Hollywood. Go is one of those films I saw once, and some of the scenes and characters really stuck with me. This is a great porny (slash porn, naturally) story that captures the two boys very well (and makes me vaguely think of the Askewniverse).
Sensible Silk Shirts. Drop the Dead Donkey femslash. Oh, I can't tell you how much I loved this. It has the best description of Joy ever: It wasn't even as if Joy was a nice person. Beautiful and fascinating, yes, like a rather sharp and glistening knife, but not nice.
Amongst Men. A great Men Behaving Badly story which leaves me wistful and wanting more for Dorothy (who I always liked a great deal).
A completely authorised biography. Yes, Prime Minister fic! Sir Humphrey! Bernard! Jim Hacker! And me, giggling myself silly and trying to see if it's physically possible for me to say Humphrey's lines. Sir Humphrey found Jim Hacker to be - not only an open book - but one with large colourful illustrations.
And I still have a pile of stories to read!
