It has this realistic element that not everything has worked out but, eventually, it will somehow.
I think that's the best that can come of this situation: a compromise, an understanding. Even if they don't completely agree, if they work it out with each other *first*, they'll make it through these difficulties intact. Basically, I don't need them to be perfectly happy, I just need them both to realise that their relationship (and Molly's safety) is important and can't be ignored because of a crisis.
Which is a long way of saying that I'm ridiculously hopeful about these two and really believe in a happy ending for them.
