It's the second point that stops me doing one about the SUV as well, though I'd imagine TW cover their own repair costs on that thing.
OMG. I could just imagine the budgetting requirements for fixing that SUV. It'd be enourmous.
And, for what it's worth, I think a car-insurance fic would be fun. Mainly because it's not about the insurance (or the tax, or the budgets) but more about how the characters react to everyday difficulties. Somehow, I suspent Fraser would do a great deal of research and be able to point out the high risks of driving ("It's proven that travelling in a car carries a higher chance of fatality than flying in a plane, Ray.") and he'd probably have some terribly boring Inuit story to relate.
