SV ramblings...

I had the bad realisation watching SV again this morning, that I've lost my faith in the Clex. Seriously, I just can't see them ever being happy together.

I used to watch SV and resided firmly in the denial side of town. Of course Lex and Clark would end up happy together. Now, I can't help thinking just how unlikely it is that they will ever get together, and if they do, they're just going to end up inflicting major emotional damage on each other.

In other thoughts, watching Nocturne I couldn't help loving Lionel. I like the fact that they're playing it fairly ambiguous with his character. He could be the scheming, manipulating, selfish and inconsiderate bastard that Lex makes him out to be, or he could just be a fairly emotionally cold and cynical man who does love Lex dearly. At the moment, I'm almost convinced that Lionel isn't as bad as Lex believes, and that the producers are doing a good job in foreshadowing just how easily Lex can believe that people who care about him are out to destroy him. It would link well with future/canon Lex seeing himself as the hero protecting the world against the Alien.

You know Shanghai Knights (and Shanghai Noon)? I just saw an article on it that mentioned the writers/producers were Miller and Gough. These are the same guys who pretty much are TPTB on SV, aren't they? In that case, I'm going to have to complain that we don't see more Shanghai hijinks in SV. *pouts* I want the guys having naked pillowfights!

I know what you mean. I like smallville, I really do, and i love the clex, but at points last season, I can remember thinking that there would come a time when I would have to stop watching. Like the episode where Bobby from Xmen gets Clark's powers, and then Clark goes and *lies* quite happily to Lex. I think that there will be a point where I'll have to say *enough*, and stop watching, and just reread stories like Livia's Demarcation and Lanning's series and Jenn's 3 Impossible Things again and again until I convinced myself that they did live happily ever after together.

Well, it's nice to know it's not just me. Yeah, it's a case of the more you watch it, the more you realise how different Clark and Lex are, and how very similar they are in other aspects (ie. trust and honesty).

I'm still watching it because I get a shot of absolute glee watching the Luthors, but...

*sighs* Maybe I'll get over it. I mean, eventually I forgave them for Reaper... well, if not forgave, then at least forgot. *g*

In the meantime, I'm just not going to think about SV. I'm going hunting for Utena episodes. I used to know a funky site where I could download them, but I have no idea of where it is. Bring on the pretty boys, rampant sexuality, and surreal symbolism!

Well, my first one was free. Then my buddy rontgenkatze had a paid one that she didn't use, and offered it to me. So the new one will be devoted to Lexy stuff and slash and I'll use Skaterboy for other stuff. I'm looking forward to having 10 icons and making polls and all that good stuff.
