Hmmm... How To Avoid Being Lynched Or Shunned By Your Friends List by [livejournal.com profile] blackfall. I don't think I actually agree with this, but it's probably a case of differing ideas of what a friends list is about. As she says: The problem, I think, comes when people attach some kind of actual friendship to their list.

Actually, I do Friend friends, if you get what I mean. Generally, I like getting to know the people on my friends list. There are some people who have different interests/spoiler policies to me, so I don't friend them. (Also, I barely have time to keep up with my current list, let alone add more to it. *g*) It means my friends list remains pretty darn small, but if I ever get really bored with a lot of 'net time on my hands (which lately, really isn't happening) I can spend time on Friend's Friend's, or other LJ's that I like but are too spoilerish for me to risk reading daily.

So, because my friends list is small, and I'm personally interested, I don't get ticked off by some of those things. Post long, rambly personal type posts. Post quizzes and memes. See me read them and post random comments back. *g*

ETA: The word for [livejournal.com profile] blackfall's post is "satire". The word for Annie is "thick".

In other thoughts, Iceman/Pyro slash is on the 'net. There's a fic by [personal profile] hackthis (argh! Can't find the link now...) and another one here. There's something about the teen angst of it all that does appeal to me. Plus, cute boys... can't underestimate the appeal of that!

Found the links to [livejournal.com profile] hackthis's Bobby/St John fics (three so far in the Thermal series) and they're here:
Thermal I: Freeze Out
Thermal II: Applying Heat
Thermal III: First Frost

I read that Blackfall thing, and it's really tongue in cheek. She's not saying you have to do those things, but if you do those things you might get unfriended. Her point is that you SHOULD do those things, and not worry about friending or unfriending, it's your journal after all. At least, that's how I read it. Her meaning being opposit of her words. YMMV.

Ah. That makes more sense actually. Thanks.

Like subtlety, the humour went straight over my head. *g*
