Someday, [livejournal.com profile] tboy, I will show you the scary way I print out fanfiction to read. Part one of Jenn's "Somewhere I Have Never Travelled" is a good example. Copy it straight over to word - it's 103 pages. After I finish fiddling with it, I print out 15 pages of very small text. Heh.

Heee. I do that, too. I am the queen of squinty reading.

And how many of us are wearing glasses right now? *g*

Personally, I like to think that as I don't have good distance vision, but my up-close vision rocks, I'm just playing to my strengths. But that could be rationalisation for a few years of squinty reading creating the need for glasses...

Without my glasses, things get blurry at about a foot.

Heh. *g* I've got about four foot before things get blurry, but still I sometimes wonder about cause and effect.

I know in inherited my eyeball shape from my dad. But he's a bookworm too...

So have you always had glasses?

I used to have 20/20 vision as a kid, but developed the need for distance glasses. (Same as Mum. She had 20/20 vision and now needs both reading and distance glasses.)

Since I was... I don't know, something like third or fourth grade? Yeah.

Font size 5 and double columns...good for smut, even if someone's sitting beside you, they still can't see it because it's just so damned small.

*high fives Zhi* Exactly!

Although, I was kind to myself and made the font size 6.5! *g*

I used to print stuff out using 6.5 but it still made me uncomfortable when somebody sat next to me on the train while I was reading hot sex so I made it smaller, now I always get neck cramps on the train because I'm always craning my neck to see the writing. This doesn't stop me though because it keeps the train rides more...interesting...

My eyes are watering at the very thought! *g* I admit, though, it must feel quite reassuring knowing that the passenger standing behind you isn't reading 'and Lex's slick fingers slid into Clark, who moaned and clutched the sheets, arse pushing back for more...' (err, for instance *g*)

Up-close reading doesn't tend to make my eyes sore, so it suits me well.

But, yeah, the whole rimming bit in that fic? Far more enjoyable when I know the person sitting next to me isn't enjoying it as well! *g*

That applies to the blowjob scene too...

...and the drunken sex scene...

Ah, the pleasure of smut.

LOL! Which fic??? I was making it up as I went along... *g* (cliches-R-us)

Just got back from lunch...Wasn't ignoring you, really! *g*

Umm... Which fic? Jenn's Somewhere I Have Never Travelled (http://seperis.illuminatedtext.com/smallville/somewhere1.html). Basically it's a SV futurefic where Clark uses yellow Kryptonite to become human.

Typical Jenn stuff, reminds me a bit of Sleep While I Drive, if you know that. Intriguing well-described scenes; good well-characterised dialogue; hot smut; and a very slowly built/explained plot. Very enjoyable, but so far, I've only finished reading the first page. It's long. *g*

But, I did get to read about the blowjob and the rimming while on the train. Definitely brightened up my evening commute!

Jenn is goooooood *g*

Ah, I've bookmarked that to read :-).

Loved Sleep While I Drive, btw.

Hmm, lunch! Might have breakfast, now that I think of it...

Go! Eat, woman!

Jenn's very good! One of my fave smut writers. *g* (The other's Te... Man, those two gals can write sex scenes like nobody's business... and they're always well characterised plotty fics.)

Yeah, I liked Sleep While I Drive, but this one is fairly similar in my reaction to it. I'm getting totally sucked in by the style and that sense of immediately being right there, in Clark's head, and it's only when I stop reading and step back that I realise that plot-wise, not too much has happened. *g*

It's not a criticism. I felt the same way about Sleep, but when the end came, I sorta didn't want to have to stop reading. *g* The journey is slow, gently revealed but I love every second of it.

Plus, Lois!!! *squee* You have no idea how much I just want to drag Jenn's Lois into a dark corner and do unspeakable things to her. (Well, not unspeakable... *g*)
