Fannish works posted in April and May:

None.

2012 total so far:

29,187 words.

Thoughts:

I'm posting this tally early because realistically, I'm not going to get the glee cruise wip posted this month. It will probably be June and it's 53K of words so that makes for an awesome annual tally, even if I didn't hit my post-something-every-month goal.

Because I've just sent something off to beta, of course I'm thinking of the next thing I want to write.

My current wips/ideas are:
- "Specificity is the Whatever of the Whatever" -- Inception, Arthur/Eames, taxfic. I want to write about Arthur first meeting Eames over taxes. (No, really. This is what I want to write. Arthur being a slightly dodgy professional "consultant" and Eames undercover as part of some forgery/fraud/thingy and pretending to be a tax agent -- he faked his references and qualifications, clearly -- and interviewing Arthur for his return. And then Arthur, because he's smart enough to maintain several fake IDs with actual governmental records, running into Eames again -- except under a different identity -- and Eames pretending to be a CPA but under another name, and... yes. I don't know where the plot will go from there but I have the set-up.)

- Prison Break, a story I started for a few people who requested it (including Isagel) that started like this:

***

It's light, but there's a pre-dawn chill in the air, that last snap of cold that comes before the Californian sun rises and the summer heat begins to scorch the earth. It's Alex's favourite time to run. He likes the cool breeze on his skin, the steady beat of his feet hitting the pavement, the empty school yards and lack of traffic. The world is quiet enough to be ignored.

He's breathing hard when he gets back to the warehouse, his t-shirt damp, sweat sliding down his neck. The muscles in his thighs keep twitching, shaking as he stretches by rote, willing his heartbeat to calm down.

Metal grinds against metal as the side door opens. It needs oiling, Alex thinks, or it needs to be grinded back. Michael would know which.

Michael probably does know, but he doesn't say anything. He closes the door behind him and squints into the distance, eyes as murky as the grey water beneath the docks.

"There's no change," Alex says, because he looks when he runs. He knows how to spot an FBI tail, knows the signs of a stake-out. As far as he can tell, Self's kept his word. They might be wearing ankle monitors, but there aren't vans full of agents watching over them.

...

It feels like it should be the start to something, but I don't know what.

- Glee wip: Klaine AU set in a magazine publishers, starting with Sebastian/Blaine and hopefully ending with Kurt/Blaine. I have ideas. Thoughts. Things I want to say about Blaine and choices and settling. It's big and blurry, but interesting (to me) so I think that might be next.

- Glee wip: See, I had this idea for a "A Series of Firsts" set during the year apart for Kurt and Blaine. I had a scene written. I had ideas of skype dates and long distance serenades. I had unexpected visits plotted in my head. I also have an actual playlist devoted to this idea and how the first song Blaine would sing to Kurt would totally be "Hey There, Delilah," with Kurt Hummel replacing Delilah in the lyrics (it totally scans, I've sung it in the car). Except canon might not match well.

It wouldn't be the first detailed fic idea to never make it to words, but when I still hear new music and think of that playlist (at the moment, Ingrid Michaelson's Parachute feels like the Klainiest of Klaine songs to me), I'm undecided.

But, to sum up: nothing posted, will be something next month.
