Glee Recs (Kurt/Blaine obvs.)

The first rec is Hail to Whatever You Found in the Sunlight That Surrounds You by
water_nix. It's not the first time I've read an AU where Kurt and Blaine meet as kids in summer vacation, but there's something really fresh about this one. The beaches are described vividly, the POV voice shifts nicely as the boys mature and the emotions worked for me. There's a good grasp on how unthinkingly mean kids can be and how we sometimes don't question the things that make us feel good. Plus, it's a happily-ever-after ending and right now, I need that.
The second rec is the opposite. I Shouldn't Want You But I Do is a PWP comic on tumblr set during 4.04. As much as I enjoy fanart, usually it emotionally feels like a drabble -- it's a glimpse of a scene, of a character's emotions -- but this felt, well, the same as a good smutty fic would. It's not just about sex, it's about how Kurt and Blaine are both feeling, how they feel about each other and both of them wanting to connect. It's definitely NSFW, but I have to say it really worked for me. There are specific moments and reaction shots that got to me, and the pacing is good, and the second last page broke my heart.
It's smut, but I also feel like it should be canon, and I can't give a higher compliment to a canon-based fanwork. But, yeah, not the thing to look at if people are walking past your screen. *g*
