out_there: Phil Coulson! (MCU: Coulson)
[personal profile] out_there
Dear Yuletide Author,

First of all, thank you. Thank you for volunteering your time and effort to bring joy to a total stranger. It's a very awesome gesture.

Now, for details on my requests. I think I basically summarised it on the prompt -- and I'd rather leave things open-ended than request something detailed that puts undue pressure on other people, especially during that busy lead-up to teh festive season -- but sometimes a little extra information helps.

Request 1 - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV)

My love for Phil Coulson knows no bounds. I would personally love a Phil Coulson/Clint Barton story, but if that isn't your thing, a story about Phil and his new team would make me ridiculously happy too.

(Or Melinda May. It'd be great to learn about her backstory. Or how Fitz-Simmons met. Or... you know what, I'd be pretty happy with anything in this universe.)

AoS is one of those series I was looking forward to -- I really do love Phil Coulson a ridiculous amount -- and then it got to TV and became my new fannish happy place. It's filled with comic-book-science and spies being snarky, and it makes me happy.

As you can see by the stories I've posted to AO3, I live with the personal headcanon of Phil/Clint happening behind the scenes, but I like the show itself too. I think Melinda May is extremely cool and would love to know more about her. Fitz and Simmons are geeky and kind of adorable. I'm warming up to Ward and Skye, but even so, I like the team dynamic.

As much as I lvoe the action of the show, I'd also like to see them interact in the downtime, in the casual between-mission times that wouldn't make it to the show.

Request 2 - Keen Eddie
Monty/Eddie would be my personal choice, but it'd also be interesting to see what's happening to those characters now.

Keen Eddie was one of those quirky funny shows that captured my heart -- and made me giggle -- and was cancelled amazingly quickly. I can't quite explain why it stayed with me, but it did. I loved the surreal moments of imagination and the quirky cases, and Monty Pippin will always be a beloved character.

Request 3 - Dogma (1999)
I would love a Loki/Bartleby story. Or... anything set in that universe, actually. For a film with so much swearing and inappropriate humour, it has some smart things to say about religion.

Dogma is one of my favourite movies and I always forget how much swearing is in it until I re-watch. Odd but true. I'd love a story of Loki/Bartleby before they fell and rebelled. What made them rebel? What was it like? What did they do in Wisconsin for hundreds of years?

Request 4 - Discworld - Terry Pratchett

I've been a fan of the Discworld for years, but I don't have any set ideas about what I'd want. So I've listed my four favourite characters and hope that will inspire you.

My favourite Discworld characters are Death (Discworld), Havelock Vetinari, Esmerelda "Granny" Weatherwax and Samuel Vimes. This is more of an open-ended prompt because Discworld is wide and varied, and it has the potential to tell so many stories. I love Vetinari's machinations and ruthless efficiency (and hatred of mimes) and how well the city runs now. I love Granny's no-nonsense approach to headology and making difficult decisions, how she's such a sharp, hard grump of a character but competent and admirable. I love Vimes' approach to police work (mostly hard work and long hours), his dislike of social rising (despite the fact it keeps happening) and his ability to think through a problem and work out what doesn't make sense. And Death is fun and too serious and loves cats and never quite gets people, but he's my favourite anthropomorphic personification.

Good luck!
