Carlos hates the desert, and he hates sand, and he hates Night Vale, and he hates his dad's stupid job with its stupid transfers. He hates the idea of spending an entire school year in this boring town.

Go. Read. This is an adorably cute story that works really well, and has so many clever references to canon that I probably missed some. (I want to re-read this and see how many little nods there are because I'm sure there's a couple here and there that I didn't spot because I was too busy going "Ooh, Steve Carlsberg!" and "Dana!" and "Street cleaners!")

I really loved this.

It was really sweet and quite... believable without making Night Vale any less or more creepy than it is on the show.

I possibly missed some things, reading it when I'm still about a year behind, but I still loved it to bits - so glad you recced it!
