Okay, there are some fics I read just because I go 'x fandom? How would that work.'. It can lead to lousy stories, or ones that make you want to go see/read the original stuff again.
Steering Titus is a Gormanghast fic, based on the book. I don't know how different the miniseries was, but the BBC production was kinda creepy and disconcerting in a really good way.
For SV, I love the Lex in Balance. Clever Lex, scheming Lionel, understanding Martha and sweet Clark. Even Jonothan makes a small appearance. It just really hit the right spot for me, so check it out.
Oh, and while you're there, check out Lenore's other fic That Old Schizophrenic Jealousy which I loved. Clex with a good sense of humour. (It was the Beanie Babies enthusiasts that really cracked me up!)

Date: 2003-01-03 07:00 am (UTC)---When she died, it was as if someone threw up their hands in a game of tug-of-war. The sudden slack swept him completely into his father's sphere--the lessons and tests and nihilistic life philosophy counterweighted by nothing. He can see all his adolescent rebellion now for what it really was, the only way he could think to opt out. Just say no to destiny. ---

Date: 2003-01-04 03:47 am (UTC)The way his voice falls on the last part of the sentence is troublingly suggestive. Sometimes, his father seems to be having a kind of-- relationship with him that he himself knows nothing about--that he would never want to know about. The content of Lionel's fantasy life has always been too frightening to consider.
Just summed it up wonderfully. I don't think that cononically, Lionel is sexually interested in Lex, but the way it's acted, it could easily be interpreted like that.
Oh, I edited the entry to include a link to another of the authors fics. I love authors who can do the angsty stuff and the comedy. I could just see Lex doing this, and being so infuriating for Clark...

Date: 2003-01-04 04:18 am (UTC)It summed it up so well. Creepy and distasteful thought, but you could see it happening. I must admit that when the Lionel/Lex vibe is about, I vastly prefer the idea of Lex being aware and wary of it, than using it in power games (or being used in power games... all much of a muchness really, it's just that this way Lex isn't quite so emotionally scarred for life).

Aw, poor girl.
I'm currently reading through The Wages of Vice (http://www.geocities.com/jat_sapphire/1nightstands/wov.htm) which is basically a gay Mill'n'Boon historical type romance. So cliched it should be dodgy, but is amusing just like junk TV.
