Hmmm... Another day where I'm (supposedly) going to be busy. I have to go to a conference/seminar thing this arvo, so I'm not going to get much time to catch up on LJ today. Oh well, at least there a free lunch involved! *g*

I have moved desks yet again, and will apparently get a new computer, but at the moment I don't have one, so I'm working at yet another desk. Over three weeks, I have spent time working at six desks, and will move to the seventh this afternoon. This should be the last move.

Haven't watched Hornblower yet (it's on tape - I remembered to shove a tape on at 8.40pm...) but caught glimpses, before the flogging got to Mum and we switched to The Whole Nine Yards. Does anyone else find the new dark breeches offputting? It just kept grabbing my attention... Have the captians always worn dark breeches? Was it only the midshipmen and liuetenants who wore white? This was what bothered me. Not the violence, the fashions.

Also, watched Schindler's List over the weekend. Saw the slash between Amon and Schindler... (I'm probably going to hell.) However, if I was a better writer, or prepared to watch the film again, I'd be attempting to use it for the boozefest. You know the scene where they talk about power, and Amon is sprawled on the settee, drunk on cheap cognac, and exchanging these long meaningful looks with Schilndler? That would be what I'd use.

Also, if I was writing an Angel Boozefest fic, I go for Oz/Doyle in S1. I'd love to read a fic about Doyle explaining Fred and Wilma, who are the main characters of Angela's Ashes, and calling Oz "My little Bam-Bam" all night! *g*

Have I mentioned how thrilled I am at the idea of the next Buffy spinoff featuring Faith?

I didn't think so.

Well, I'm thrilled.

*Mmmm.... Faith....*

I'm now set up at the new desk. The new computer screen is pretty big, which is good, but the new keyboard is a little small (and everytime I try to hit 'home' I end up hitting 'Scroll Lock' instead, which is starting to bug me. I have a similar problem with my right shift key...)

Just came back from a seminar on superannuation and estate planning. I was basically set off to collect a copy of notes for the boss, but the free lunch was good. (Salad, pasta salad, beef stroganoff, some chicken in a spicy sauce, battered fish, yummy bread rolls & OJ. I really enjoyed it... *g*) I sat up the front, followed the first couple of pages of the 12 pages of presentation notes, and then fell asleep!

The seminar was led by Kevin Smith. Unfortunately, he wasn't the interesting one of Silent Bob fame, but his voice sounded very similar to Rik Mayall (sp? Y'know, Drop Dead Fred, the Young Ones, Bottom.... That guy). That was probably the only thing keeping me awake for the first twenty minutes. Imagining Rik explaining estate planning amused me greatly.

Bad [livejournal.com profile] slodwick. I'm trying to work like a good little girl, and she posts a link to Te's fic, What I Do Is Me -- For That I Came . Otherwise known as the Lex introduces Clark to the fun of leather and bondage.

I refuse to read it. I refuse to get all hot and bothered at work thinking about Clark and Lex and leather. I refuse to submit to my baser desires.

...

*sigh* I submitted. I have no will power.
