Everybody's off reading OotP. Personally, since I've yet to be stuffed to read the second book, I'm not too caught up in the thrill of the fifth! I have made the official decision to hibernate today, and stay in my PJs. I'm a combination of tired and really lazy. *g*

Watched Spooks last night. Not only was there Giles from Buffy, there was also Kitty from Tipping the Velvet, and that guy from Blackadder (He was the Prince in the third series, and the very dense co-officer from Blackadder Goes Forth). Not only did I enjoy the characters (Giles! *drool* Kitty! *drool*), it was also a really good show. I might need to start watching it every week.

Yeah, I'm a boring person this morning.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't broken or anything. It's just taking ages to toast. Well, it's not actually taking any longer than it usually does, it's just that I want my toast. Now!

Okay, as much as I want Clark's superspeed for catching my morning train, right now I want the heat vision. Mmmmm... Instant toast!

And that's just bringing up memory's of Instant Toast Man. (Or was that Powered Toast Man?) I'm telling you right now I really didn't watch much Ren and Stimpy, but that show has a way of permanently permeating your brain.

Oh, and my Utena theory? [livejournal.com profile] jmtorres came up with a good reasons against it, and I haven't yet worked out how to back my theory up. Hmm... I'm off to butter my toast.

The Telling of All This won me over very quickly with the following lines:

"Bad day," Clark says. He shakes his head. "I hate Jim."

Lex hates Jim. Whatever Jim's done, he hopes Clark will let him fix it. He wants so much to be allowed to fix something for Clark. "Jim who?" he asks, leaning back.

"Oh." Clark smiles through the haze of his bad mood. "No. Phys ed. Class. Gym. I hate gym."

Lex laughs a little, mostly for Clark's benefit and at himself. He's so eager to further complicate things.

Seriously, it just gets so much better from there. It's a very interesting Clark and Lex. I enjoyed this vision of Chloe, too. But, I have to admit I haven't been this intrigued by Clark and Lex in fic for a while. It's good.

Well, I'll try not to spam today by just listing comments as I go and posting at the end of the day. Let's see if I can stick to it for more than ten minutes. *g* (Hey, I made it for nearly an hour...)

Long Time Gone by tiffany Rawlins, is a young Magneto/Xavier fic. Charles is a little less holy than normally shown, and Erik is only just this side of being a good person. Highly intriguing. I love fic like this where the similarity between the two is explored.

Best pick me up music ever is The Cure. I'm currently listening to a compilation of their singles (The Cure Galore: Singles 1987-97) and found their lyrics on line. Now I've pumped up the volume and am singing and bopping away.

ETA: Lullaby is a very strange, strange song. Seriously. These are the lyrics Odd. Intriguing, but odd. )

Anyone out there seen or read the Gormenghast series? If so, check out Te's latest Ethan Rayne fic, The dancer from the dance.

It's an incredible fic, offering a marvelous vision of Steerpike. Showing exactly who Steerpike always has been and always will be, a dry, bloodless, ambitious young man. I cannot rec this fic enough. Read it. Stare at it in wonder, and then read it again. (Seriously, you have no idea how glad I am that Te wrote this instead of reading HP:OotF. Steerpike could show Lord Voldemort how to successfully gain control...)

I'm off to read it again, and then I'm going to watch The Bill before it finishes.
