Well, okay, I spent $20 this morning, but for someone as... tight as me, that's a lot to spend before work. Got a taxi to the station (pressed sleep instead of snooze on the alarm and fell back asleep for half an hour and wouldn't have made the train) for $5.

Then, got to the city and couldn't find my hairbrush. I'd been rushed getting out, and usually I have one of those compact, fold-in-half hairbrushes in my bag for just such an occasion, but I couldn't find it this morning, so I went to Coles and bought another.

Since I was in Coles anyway, I grabbed soups for lunch (instant powdered soup, and the more pricey Velish that I haven't tried before) and breakfast. All in all, I only spent $4 on breakfast (2 roast potatoes, 2 slices of pizza and a Ribena), so it's not as if it was all silly spending.

Yeah, well, I never claimed my life was interesting. *bg*

I have a huge, pounding headache that's really making me want to either go to sleep or cry. I'm having trouble making sense of anything at the moment, and I don't have any more panadol on me. But the receptionist had Panadeine, and was kind enough to share.

Then, I get back to my desk, and find that the letter that I stayed back last night to write is sitting on my desk, signed and ready to go, with a Post-It note stuck to the front, with "Perfect" scrawled in the boss' handwriting.

Combined with the painkillers, I now feel willing and able to try to get some work done.

Wow. Ended up taking a two hour lunch break. Fell asleep in one of the interview rooms, and then woke up and talked to the receptionist (who was on her lunch break). At least I feel almost normal now.

At one stage, I had the disorienting feeling of waking up to the sound of a vacuum and just about to ask Mum to do it later, then opened my eyes and realised I was at work. *g*

I also had a weird dream last night. I was in a car with Toby, CJ and Sam (I don’t know if that made me Josh or not) driving somewhere, out in the country. They started bitching about the weather because it was too hot and said that it was 80 degrees. And I just kept asking “How much is that in Centigrade? I don’t know Fahrenheit.”

I’m guessing it may be a sign my heater was up too high last night. Or that reading WW fic right before going to sleep will have an effect on the brain.
