Had such a sugar high yesterday afternoon. Went to Burger King for lunch with [livejournal.com profile] charliequinn, and between a large creaming soda and a slice of their chololate pie (tasty!), I was jittery, talkative and virtually bouncing off the walls all afternoon. Didn't actually accomplish much, though.

Got off the train at 7pm, stopped at Coles and stood around reading the magazines for 2 hours! A few years ago, I would have pored through them, reading all the articles. These days, I check out the horoscopes, roll my eyes at a couple of articles, and look at the star pics. (And enjoy the difference in movie rating systems. View From the Top gets 2/5 stars in Empire, a C- in TV Week, and 7/10 Cleo/Cosmo... (One of them.) *snerk*) Oh, and TV Week or TV Guide is doing a SciFi special next week (with mentions to Farscape, so I'll have to remember to check it out).

I'd like to do a brief slasher experiment. If you get a minute at a newstand, check out September's Cosmo (bright orange cover) and the article on guy's body-language on page 76. This article comes with a few picture examples of the body-language they're talking about. What I found interesting is that even though I consider myself an unobservant person, I could recognise the emotion immediately. I think it's a follow through from writing/reading slash - I'm used to looking for the tiny signs that can be interpreted as LexlovesClark.

I just need to test the theory. So, could you check it out, have a quick look at the pictures, and tell me if you guys spot it too?

In other news, I promised to beta for Signe last night, but ended up getting home at 9.30pm, and calling and talking to Mum to 11.45pm! I'm looking forward to seeing her this weekend (I'm turning 22!), but [livejournal.com profile] charliequinn was right and my brother was wrong, League of Extraordinary Gentlement isn't out yet (it's out 21/08/03), so we won't be seeing that on Saturday. Oh well.

Oh, Signe, in case you don't receive my email, I did send the fic. I'll try sending it again today, in the body of the email instead of as an attachment. Maybe that's what's going screwy. (I'm going to print out Signe's fic and put my morning train ride to good use.)

Ooh, Triple J singalong! Bust a Move!

Cake!

One of the partners brought in a birthday cake this morning (since it's one of the other partner's birthday). So, we've called it a combined birthday (since my b-day's Saturday) and just had the cake.

Yum!

It was delicious. A hazelnut cake with mousse and a crunchy layer. Rich, and sweet, and interesting textures. I swear, it was like eating the cake version of a Ferrero Rocher!

So good. So very, very good!

Edited because 'mousse' and 'mouse' do not mean the same thing.

That random LJ interpretation thing? Very amusing. Some are total nonsense, but others almost make sense. It's like reading LJ friends posting when really, really, really drunk! *g*

These ones for [livejournal.com profile] thete1 totally cracked me up. Read more... )

I really should be doing more than sitting here for fifteen mintues just pressing reload, right? I had enthusiasm for my job this afternoon, I swear... it's just dissipated as the internet lured me away. *g*

I'm also wondering what Te originally used the word "zortified" in relation to. It keeps popping up and making me smirk.

Stuff...

I don't think it'll surprise anyone if I say that my favourite SV (W100) drabble this week was Winging It by [livejournal.com profile] hyperfocused. Clark and Lex commenting on ITSOTG? Of course I'd love it.

Am I the only one who gets ridiculously thingy about crossovers? I mean, it's a drabble, and still, as amused as I was, after reading it I still thought that you can't have that crossover because Superman is referenced in WW (Josh mentions Kryptonite in a conversation to Donna). Am I being silly? Do other people have this reaction too? That if one show references another, you can't cross them over without explaining that away?

I think I'm just overly pedantic. *g*

Hey, I've kinda packed! Well, I packed one bag for going away, and the other one will just be a backpack with a change of clothes and bathroom stuff, so I'll do it tomorrow evening. *g*

I'm going to buy Weird Al tickets tomorrow at lunch. Borrowed the money from Mum! *g*

ETA: Did anyone catch Charmed? Was it a repeat? Mind you, I don't care enough to turn on the TV and check, it's just a vague curiousity. (I miss Cole. Even if he was annoying me and needed to be killed off earlier. I still miss him. So cute!)
