Mum rocks...
Aug. 12th, 2003 10:38 amI was talking to Mum about work last night (read: bitching about changing desks, and my newish co-worker who bugs me sometimes, even though she's not at all malicious) and she gave me some good advice regarding my desk that's still full of the last admin girl's stuff.
Mum's advice was to empty the desk, find an empty cupboard somewhere, and shove it all in there. That way, I can set up my area and I won't feel as if my work is constantly about to avalanche on me... *g*
Followed her directions and now my desk has actual surface space where I can work (I still have piles of my own filing to do, but it's much less mess and now the mess is just mine). It's quite a relief and I am already feeling better about the list of work I need to do. Plus, it means that I spent the first hour and a half of work futzing about with piles of files and paper...
Only bad thing about today was that I watched Spooks this morning and came in late to work. (I need to remember that I have trouble stopping halfway through that show. It's too good and Tom is too intriguing.) On the good side, my boss isn't in until 2pm this afternoon, so I have time to catch up on my stuff.
