Had fun with popslashers last night and ended up cursing taxis. The taxi we ordered at 11pm? Still hadn't got there at 1am. When we called them about this for the third or forth time, they said that they normally didn't service the area, and gave us the number of another taxi company. (The second taxi company still took an hour to get there. Good greif.)

I was going to take the cab all the way home, but it cost me $37 dollars to get into the city, and the taxi driver said he was off work in half an hour, and refused to take me home. Considering a cab home would be another $35 approximately, I decided to wait in the city for twenty minutes and get the Night Rider home for $6. Hence, I didn't get home until 4am, but I did get time to get McDonald's.

Okay, I'm feeling tired and a little seedy, and I'm off to read popslash.

Yes, I came across all of these through other people's recs, but that's no reason not to rec it again. *g*

Popslash:

As Lucid as Hell is a Lance/Justin fic with so much meta-commentary it'll leave you thinking differently about your WiP fics. Basically, this is what our characters do when we're not working on our stories. Great fun to read and far more entrancing than the basic idea would lead you to believe, plus there's a breif guest appearance by a fave characer of mine that make me cackle with glee.

Monkey's Paw is just a little humorous fic about the NSync boys wishing on a monkey's paw. Made me laugh out loud.

Sports Night:
Five Things That Never Happened (to Dan Rydell) by Shrift. I've rec'ed it before, I'll rec it again. I stand by my opinion that every SN fan should read this.

<http://home.teleport.com/~punkm/tinmen.txt>Tin Men. Dude, it's Punk writing Dan/Casey. You really don't need any more of a rec than that. Plus, it has my favourite Casey line ever: "You are a woman among men."

A Sandwich is a Transitory Thing by Debchan. I'm not a big fan of dialogue only fics. They feel like reading through scripts, and if I wanted to do that, I'd read the scripts instead of watching the show. I like description, I like explanation; I like knowing what the characters are thinking and picturing what they're doing. I don't like just reading lines of dialogue and having to flick back through the conversation to figure out who's saying what to who and how they'd probably be saying it. This fic is mainly dialogue, and I didn't even notice. Debchan's got each character's dialogue down pat. I found myself sitting back, enjoying the Sorkinese and these characters that I love, and not once getting confused in the conversation or wishing for more descriptions. Trust me, coming form me, that's a hell of a compliment.

Nutrition and Other Needs. Well, it's by Pearl-o, so it goes unstated that the fic will be good. All the same, I really like this. I don't want to spoil anything about it for anyone, just read it and enjoy. Casey and Dan are so much themselves that it *feels* like SN. These are the guys I know and love, and this is a fic that leaves me feeling incredibly satisfied, which isn't always easy to do. The final line, and the end bit of dialogue, has just stayed in my head for days.

Even though we watched both Backstreet boy and NSync stuff last night, JC is still my favourite by a mile and a half. He's pretty, he's talented, he's enthusiastic, but most of all, he's a dork. It makes for a highly adorable and sexy combination. (Or, in [livejournal.com profile] sinbrat's words, he's adorkable!)

Haven't studied, haven't done anything and man, do I suck. Late night combined with alcohol when I knew I had to study? I totally suck.

Meanwhile, I kinda want this shirt. Yes, I know I'd never wear it anywhere, I just like it.
