Okay, you know there's that 'have to finish this' feeling? There's that feeling when you're reading a vaguely uncomfortable fic, and you just have to keep reading to find out how it ends. The fic isn't bad, per se, it's just... a bit uncomfortable. A bit too embarrassing. Or heartbreaking. Or whatever. It just makes you feel a little bit too much for the characters.

I've just read two SN fics like that. Call of the Wild for a screwed up Danny and Semaphore for a screwed-up Casey. Don't get me wrong. They're both good fics. Interesting writing style, good build-up and satisfying ending. Just like Helen's other fic, Unspoken (which I rather like), they both have a firm grasp of the characters and the dialogue.

It's just not quite the characters I see in my own head. I have a feeling I whitewash Casey and Danny to an extent in my fic. They're never too screwed up, they're never too negative, or miserable, or out of control. They're always a little more lighthearted, a little more free and easy. I don't know if it's my personality (ie. a lack of taking things seriously enough) leaking through, a lack of me seeing the more negative sides of canon or just me reflecting an aspect of canon. Doesn't really matter, actually.

Anyway, I'm going to round the night off with some good old-fashioned, much enjoyed smut. Two Player Game.

Went to bed at 1am. Woke up a little after noon. Man, didn't realise I was that tired.

I'm going to see RotK with the lil' bro this afternoon. (Elves, and hobbits and dwarves, oh my!)

Woo-hoo! Asylum is up on Tinyvision! I will be watching that tonight!

Have now watched all of SN with my lil' bro. Have SN fic ideas, but not enough energy to write 'em. However, the fics I want to write are:
- Casey/Josh - have the start written. Have a vague idea of the plot.
- Casey/Dan - "Attractive/Handsome" fic. Have the start written. Really have no idea where it's going.
- Casey/Dan , or maybe just Dan-centric fic featuring a lot of Abby. (Otherwise known as an excuse to give Dan's father a heart attack.) I've been hearing the Abby/Dan back and forth in my head all afternoon.
- Justin/Brian fic for seperis, which proves that I truly suck. I will do it. I really, really will.
- I'm sure there was something else, but I can't remember it. Possibly it was just to finish the Donna WW Wip, but I think that will linger in creative limbo for eternity.

Still. It's a good day. Sleep-in. RoTK. Asylum. *g*
