CP Rec: Bangkok series
Dec. 23rd, 2014 10:37 amWith a new Cabin Pressure episode coming out, and
tealin's advent calendar, I've been reading a bit of CP fic. I'm rather partial to Douglas/Martin but it's a hard show to replicate in a believable fashion. And then this morning, I came across the Bangkok series, three fics that start with:
Martin Wins A Game (3088 words) by AxeMeAboutAxinomancy
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Cabin Pressure
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Martin Crieff/Douglas Richardson
Characters: Douglas Richardson, Martin Crieff, Arthur Shappey
Additional Tags: Word Games, First Time
Series: Part 1 of Bangkok
Summary:
It really works for me. Douglas feels just the right mix of smarmy and geniune; Martin is insecure and worried but also willing to try for things he doesn't entirely believe he'll get. I like how well they know each other, and how easily the regular teasing shifts ever so slightly to something warmer and softer, an inclusive injoke between them rather than something mean or cruel.
I really like the episodes where Martin and Douglas work together towards something, and these stories captured that feeling for me.

Summary:
Douglas sipped his coffee and offered, mildly, "Words that sound naughty but aren't."
All right, it was juvenile, but they were flying to Bangkok.
