out_there: A present for my 25th birthday (SGA: Reading Rodney by Celli)
I read a gorgeous Nate/Brad story, a post-breakup get-back-together story which caught me emotionally and made me *feel* for both of them (and vaguely wish I had a Great Love Story that came post-break-up, but really, I'm stubborn enough to make a break-up stick. Plus, let's be honest, it's not like she was that into me, certainly not enough for the months later, slowly drawn back together of this fic. But I digress.)

I thought I noted it down, but I copied the share link for the wrong fic. And I wasn't logged into AO3 when I read it, and it was a link-surfing rec that I can't remember where I found it, and oh, sadness, fellow fen.

I wanted to point everyone at this little slice of joy, but I can't due to my own fault.

It was so wonderfully heartfelt and real. Perfectly touching, and so right for both of them, how much doesn't need to be spelled out and how painful the break up's been. If I find it, I'll come back and add the link.

ETA: OMG, found it! Sometimes, AO3's search function is the Best Thing Ever. Especially since I couldn't remember title, author or summary.

The inevitable part of every break-up is that your friends tend to pick sides. Brad hadn't even wanted all of those idiots to pick him, and that's not even the worst part.
