Who says I can't acheive something if I put my mind to it? *g*

I'm now up-to-date on Friends' LJ postings (apart from a few fics to read). On the bad side, it means I've spent the last 3-4 hours at work catching up on LJ, and have achieved nothing on my to-do list. On the good side, I have half an hour before the boss returns, so it's time to get some adrenaline flowing and work. *bg*

Anyone in the US on my friends list? You've got Hornblower coming up this month. Check out Widget's post for details. People, I implore you, watch this. It'll give me someone else to rant about this series with. Dude, it's slashy, it's swashbuckling (well, not literally, but it's got the Navy life and cute young sailors), and it's got Archie! And Horatio!

Okay, I want to watch my Hornblower tapes again.

"Off Like a Shot". Search for it on the SSA...

It's wrong that I feel so pleased with myself, isn't it?

ETA: Of course, I haven't caught up on the fic communities on my friends list. They don't really count. *g*

'Hornblower' is magnificent, from the tip of its slashy name to the soles of the 'ships spawned from a canon scenario of men forming close bonds alone at sea. (That, and fan sites called "Salty Seamen". ;P)

Salty Seamen

Hee!

Yeah, it's one of those few series that I can watch again and again and again. It's a staple for sick days when I'm not well enough to go online.

I used to have it all on video, but I accidentally taped over it with something far less worthy, and am waiting impatiently for it to be replayed. I love the episode where they find Archie in the Spanish prision... Bless angsty!slash. :P

A friendly slasher in Sydney copied her tapes for me, so I now have all 8 episodes on tape, plus a little 30 minute Welsh TV special "behind the scenes" thingy. Ah, Hornblower... *happy sigh*

I'd say that was my favourite episode too, but I'm really fond of the first episode (Young, uncertain Horatio first meeting Archie! *g*). Plus, I honestly like the Mutiny double ep's because I have a love of Happy!Archie and even if his death kills me, I love the last two scenes between Archie and Horatio (that last goodbye is lovely, and the boat scene where he realises Archie's hurt gets me every time).

So, basically, my favourite episodes are the one with Archie in them. I'm a shallow, shallow girl. *g*

*Glares* Get your butt over to [livejournal.com profile] svroundtable! You can chat about 'Off Like a Shot' there if you want... And we have coffee... And fresh cakes daily... Am I enticing you yet?? *g*

Well, really I meant that I haven't caught up on W100, Contrelamontre, In The Tall Grass or Big Foam Finger (somehow, Selling Out is on my "friends" filter, not my "fics" one. I'm a little partial to Spectacles fic, so I haven't corrected that yet).

Round Table wasn't even on my friends list.

*adds Round Table*

I'll have to read and comment. It sounds like so much fun! *g*
